I can't really complain as Canada and most of the eastern seaboard has been smothering under this smoke. Today was unbelievable hear, less than a mile visibility and as an asthmatic it was killing me. I have so much empathy for Canada right now. (well I have had all along but it's intensified today).

Have I mentioned Geminis don't make choices well. I went back to the damn store for that recliner. I was buying SOMETHING because I won't have time for this come August when I'm back to work. I was thinking about the power one. I could make it work. I get there to learn they only use ONE clerk for the whole damn store so that did mean I had plenty of time.

Turns out I can't get the one I went back for or another one I liked as they were floor models and I would have to pick it up myself. Yeah no. They had another one by Lane (a very good brand but I wonder if they went out of business given the liquidation) It was a vibrating/heating one BUT if you weren't buzzing away in it, it was hard and rather uncomfortable. Also I need a recliner that has a solid foot rest versus the one with a gap and this had the gap (my Ehlers-Danlos means my knees sag backwards in that gap and that's how I fucked up my leg in the first place).

I wandered that store for over an hour, ready to cry because I'm spoiled for choice. I might have picked the wrong one. I had two that were super comfy but I picked the one that was slightly lower which sucked but it was 100$ cheaper and I'm like is that inch worth 100$ to me? The answer will probably be yes but it's coming saturday so I need to clean the living room and drag out the dead one.

I finally got to Gallipolis in time to hit Daylight Donuts, their new fancy donut place (to go with Jackson's new fancy one) I liked it much better than Jackson's, got a bacon-maple long john. Also I went to the Gallipolis Boba hut only to realize it was almost EXACTLY like the brand new one in Jackson. Okay that shouldn't be a surprise as it's a local chain owned by the same dude but it's not just the Boba tea place. It was the same weird ass combo of computer repair-sign maker -tea place-nail salon-car wash. The only difference was that didn't have the Pho place.

reading meme time:
What I Just Finished Reading:

The Joy Machine some star trek thing by James Gunn that is dull as dishwater with a moralistic Kirk trying to beat a computer.

The Joy Machine some star trek thing, pretty boring.

An Unforgiving Case by Claire Kells a decent national parks mystery. I enjoyed it.

What I am Currently Reading:

There Comes a Darkness by Katy Rose Pool Ill be honest didn't even pick it up second week running

Together We Rot by Skyla Arndt - a YA horror arc that is the best thing I've read in a while

The Widows - a fictionalize version of the first female sheriff in Ohio in the 1920s. It might be too wrapped up in the coal mining unionization for my sanity. It was half the reason I bought it at the Ohioana book fest but it's a lot. (for those who don't know both grandfathers were coal miners. It killed them early. Also several of their brothers and my grandmother's all died in the mines)

Andujar - a Puerto Rican steampunk I got at the symposium.

What I Plan to Read Next: probably something for pop sugar

I'm glad you finally got a recliner.

I chuckled because you listed The Joy Machine twice, so I'm thinking you really disliked it. *g*
