It's been raining off and on and that's okay. It's needed. So we'll have a little sunshine challenge anyhow.



Like my irises my glads bit the dust too so have my neighbor's flowers




another challenge of me not creating anything. It just didn't have anything that it would work with. Ah well.

Interesting to no one fact Mom and I disagree about gladiolas. I rather like them. She associates them with funeral bouquets and doesn't like them (I associate mums with that). They represent faithfulness and there is one thing I am faithful to and that's a lot of my fandoms (and writing in general) I still occasionally noodle with a fandom from 30 years ago certainly not as much as I do the newest of them but I don't usually abandon them entirely. I'm working on a story for wipbigbang that I stopped working on in 2003. I don't go away easily. I'm always shocked running across fans who change fandoms like people change socks. They go in for the quick love affairs.

I forgot to do the community recs last night so here they are.

Because my friends know I have no will power they wave flags like fandomgiftbasket at me. It's a multifandom exchange, no assignments. The prompts go out and you find the ones you want to try. Yes I signed up. Yes with my newest fandom, and my second newest and one from 20+ years ago. Faithful.

Sharing your neighbour's glaidoli counts I think! :D I think they'd can be part of super lovely, dramatic bouquets; funeral bouquets around here are usually with chrysanthemes, or carnations.

Yes they really are dramatic flowers. Yes mums and carnations are what I associate with funerals (and mother's day)

I don't know why I thought glads were mostly whites and blues, but clearly I'm wrong. xD I suppose most cultivated flowers come in all colors at this point.

And yes to the fandom faithfulness! I adopt new fandoms all the time, but I still enjoy and participate in older ones all the time (like Inuyasha!). I totally get following the crowds as engagement is fun, but I see your point about people abandoning things after like a year and it's such a foreign idea to me. Like: okay the last episode aired, time to make a new pseud and stop participating in fandom :D <-- I never understand that!

Same here. I adopt plenty new but I try to keep a hand in the older ones too. I literally was told when I posted this. I Can't BELIEVE people are still writing in this fandom, so good to see. The show ended in May. THIS May. I'm like what...

I admit I jump from fandom to fandom every some years. A tiny part of it is engagement, though a lot of it is moreso whatever plot bunny jumped at me after finishing a game/watching a show/etc lol. There are some stuff from older fandoms though I would like to finish eventually. Even if I'm not active in creating fanworks for a series anymore I still check fanworks of those from time to time.

Oh I get new fandoms every year too though I try not to let go of the old ones so easily. It's not easy. And some years I don't touch them at all. Like I'm not entirely sure the last time I wrote a fullmetal alchemist story for example.
