Hotter than the face of the sun
Jul. 23rd, 2023 09:08 pmOkay compared to the south west it's not but for PA it was hot and early on. That's why you're not getting a writerly ways. My brain is FRIED. Like bad. Like heat exhaustion. Like I came home and sat in the game room (where it's about 67 degrees) going it's too hot in here while drinking gatorade.
So Tomorrow you get writerly ways and today you get incoherent ramblings and pictures. So we get there less than a half hour after the festival started. It's already packed and hot AF. I drop mom off near the food trucks, park half a farm away, struggle back only to find out the vendors aren't by the food trucks.
We walk back past where I'm parked to find the vendors. There were a lot of them. Unfortunately too many selling the exact same kind of crap. LOTS of fannish Tumblers. Lots of clothing (though I did like the shirt with Hannibal Lecter's face with the saying I Chew Chew Chews You, Happy Valentine's day though it was on a CHILD's shirt which seemed a tad odd) There were several selling Amigurumi.
One of the Amigurumi crafters saw my Wales hat and asked me in Welsh could I speak Welsh? Can I? A little. Did I remember anything? Hell no. I gave her a deer in the headlights look and said I have no idea what time it is to tell you bore da or bore prynhawn. She was from Anglesey which is someplace I remember. I was honest I said all I can remember in this heat is my most used Welsh statement Dw i'n eisiau cwrw (I'd like a beer). She laughed. Sadly I have no place for a 70-100$ crocheted dragon.
It started getting SO HOT Mom and I gave up on the vendors and hit the gem show. I got some little things including a 5 dollar fossil/gem grab bag with 7 shark teeth, some nice little bits and some that are obviously cut off bead chains for necklaces but that's okay. It was fun. Mom got some fun stuff (no pictures yet) I did get a Celtic moon amber ring and earrings made from butterfly wings once their brief lives are over.
The farm also had donkeys who look like appaloosas I didn't know they came in that color. So cute. Couldn't get a pic as I couldn't handle what I was carrying and my cane and the phone at the same time
Also now that the sunburn has matured it's pretty funny. You can see streaks of where the sunscreen didn't wash off. At least it worked on my face. That didn't burn.
My Owl House charms
my new jewelry
my grab bag, sand rose and black amber

the wedding area
The sun goddess dress, was worn at a met gala

Mom
kids grades 7-12 (art school) decorated this room
The skirt has Pittsburgh's iconic yellow bridges on it (my second favorite of the bunch)
my favorite, the green is lettuce and her body is a fish tank

pretty meh about these pics of me
