This day could have gone better

cornerofmadnessI made it back home intact. Barely. Somehow I couldn't get out of my own way and I had too many bags o' shit at the parentals. Took forever to pack and leave. I'm barely a half hour away in Steubenville where my trip nearly ended in an explosion of metal. I stopped for the yellow going to red. The jackass in the truck hauling a cart of lumbar almost did NOT stop. He laid on the brakes, turned the truck sideway, bounced the cart off the median strip and landed in the other lane. Had he hit me, he'd have crushed my SUV and knocked me into oncoming traffic in the intersection. One exit further and he would have done this in full view of the police.
Gojyo (my SUV) hooked a black cloud 1/2 mile from my house and I swear took it with me the whole 200 miles. It tiddled down off and on the whole way. No lie. It would be blue skies ahead of me but by the time I'd get there it was black. Sigh.
At least I estimated when I'd be back accurately and my mail was waiting with two things from etsy, one silly charms and the other the gold ring for my cosplay which was a) smaller than I thought b) silver....(My mistake entirely) It's not worth sending back. I'll get some gold foil and wrap the ring for cosplay days.
Also in there was a book I hadn't known I won from Goodreads (thanks GR) AND a jury duty summons that I missed entirely so there's probably a bench warrant for me...not for the first time. They do this EVERY summer. I guess they can see I teach so assume I'm around in the summer but I never am. I have told them this for years and years. I'll have to call them on thursday because I'll be in the clinic all day tomorrow for my vascular study which caused agita this morning because I thought it was in Adena but it's not. I misunderstood. Grant hospital now has a branch office somewhere between the Krogers and Lowes. I know kinda where it is. Also had a gift from that Native American group I've given money to for 30 years give or take. Instead of yet another dreamcatcher they sent a light up magnifying glass. Now this i can use!
Rocket is fine. Past Dana fucked up thinking she left Future Dana several cans of cat food. She left one and no bags of kibble. He was not impressed. He wanted to sit with me so bad. He did for a long time and then suddenly bit me and captured my arm with his paws and back kicked me. I have two punctures from his fangs on the back of my hand and five long scratches on my forearm/wrist. Bad ones. Bled so much I had to put on a compression dressing after cleaning it with sterile saline (can't find my hibcleans which is a surgical scrub disinfectant) Slavered it with triple antibiotic ointment because cat bites/scratches are rife with bacteria. I am super unhappy.
I left Dylan's baking book with mom as she was interested. We tried the strawberry fluffies I think maybe we should have left the cool whip out for a while because it didn't incorporate well and they didn't hold together well. I'm not sure if it was the cool whip or the strawberry cake but something had a chemical aftertaste, not awful but enough for me to go huh? Honestly it was easy, tasty and I think I'll a) experiment with other cake types b) make them for coworkers

Cats are so mercurial! Midnight sometimes like to play fight and I'm like, no! I don't have the thick skin for it! That's when I send in Pip, lol!
