cornerofmadnessWe all have them. One of mine is being ignored when you ask for my medical advice. Not me popping in to offer it unasked (I try not to do that) but if you ask me for my advice and utterly ignore it because you don't want to hear it, it does annoy me.
Of course no one is obligated to take anyone's advice. You're not obligated to take the advice of a doctor you're actually paying for. But if you're going to ignore me then I'd rather you not even ask my professional opinion.
This rant brought to you by my friend, TH. After me being on his butt for months and very especially the last 6 weeks, he finally relented (after that aforementioned getting stern him last week when once again asked my opinion) and went in. Long story short his heart was functioning at 30% and he needs a quadruple bypass after a diagnosis of congestive heart failure, arrhythmia and atherosclerosis (i.e. same thing I said 6 weeks ago) Sigh. And the reality is, he could very easily die intraoperatively. Friends, I'm good at this diagnosis stuff and if I don't know I admit it and point you in the direction of people better suited to answer.
Also annoying the fuck out of me today is Youtube. I'm not in the mood to pay for it but they've now made it so it will not run with ad blockers on it. FINE. I can handle an ad. You know what I can't handle. Propoganda and stuff that has no place ANYWHERE. Today one of the ads was Kevin Sorbo opening 'we need to talk about masculinity in Hollywood. We men need to stop winning Woman of the Year awards.' I didn't get to listen to what I wanted to hear because I WOULD NOT sit thru that. I wish you could report their ads. That's not an ad, it's just hate.
And that leads me to the ironic part of this it's music monday and here we go YT
How about a little twist on music monday? Every week a new letter represented. You've seen this challenge before. So the group/solo act has to start with the letter of the week and if you want you can borrow this for you blog or drop your music into the comments here. Let's have some fun with this. One of the things that amuses me is I got both my parents listening to a metal band from Mongolia. Mom loves this song by the Hu
And Halestorm and the Hu have sung together.
Back to my college days With Hall and Oates
80s teens, who remembers air bands? My sorority did a performance to this one by Heart
Oddly enough I was telling my Students about Harry Connick Jr today. Hands down the BEST concert I've been to. He never left the stage in 3 hours (even as his band took a break, convo today was muscle fatigue which is how he came up)
And just to piss off Kevin Sorbo, have Harry Styles

Date: 2023-11-07 05:56 am (UTC)So far I haven't had any problems using Firefox not logged in to youtube. I'm running with uBlock Origin, facebook container (contains more than just FB), privacy badger, and decentraleyes.
I think the "not logged in" part and having the containers extension is what's working. I'm not even getting the warning popups.
