Way to make things worse

So Holzer has been calling me to make an appt with my OB/GYN I figured it's probably her wanting to follow up post-op. She wanted to spare me having to drive 80 miles every three months and wanted to split it between her office and my surgeon's. I appreciate that but I wanted to see what HE wants first.

I come out of my first class and see two voice mails on my phone one is Holzer saying 'this is Kathy, with Dr. K's office, please call us back about your lab results.' and the other is from my surgeon's nurse saying 'your vascular surgeon wants you off your blood thinners 5 days before the surgery.' but NOTHING about post op which is what I had asked about originally.

Okay so let's unpack this nonsense. Let's start with the blood thinner thing. It's like no shit, you already said that (I knew that being a surgeon myself) but did they want me on levanox post op for 2 weeks as I still can't have blood thinners so I called back and asked about that again. head desk.

I call holzer and yes, part of the reason is as suspected, they want me to make 3 follow ups. I said no, let's make ONE and let me talk to the surgeon. He may not want me seeing her at first. So what is up with my lab results? Do I have a worse cancer? Do I NOT have cancer? WHAT? What do we need to talk about.

receptionist - let me talk to Kathy

me - fine.

receptionist - Kathy says she never called you.

Me - then HOW did I know her name?!?

receptionist - oh...

me - yeah, so if she wasn't calling me she might want to backtrack who she meant to call.

good help is hard to find.

My friend TH survived the by pass surgery but even by 7 pm he was not yet awake. baby steps.


What I Just Finished Reading:


Demon Ex Machina it's like a grown up buffy but there was one thing I didn't like: the demons didn't dust so she's always hiding bodies. Seems unlikely to me.

Daemons of the Shadow Realm - Hiromu Arakawa, still not as fantastic as Fullmetal but this was better than the opening volume. The sister is annoying however.

The Case Files of Richard the Jeweler - Was I high at Booksamillion? I know that it was buy one get one 50% but why did I think I'd like a contemporary manga about a young jeweler? To be fair I did like it but it's not something I want to collect.

Nightmare before Christmas - yeah it's that

Making it So - Patrick Stewart. I have to read a celeb memoir for my reading challenge and the library had this. It's good so far but man his early life was hard.

What I Plan to Read Next: The Reformatory, The Widows

I have made some interesting choices when I have been on a book high at a bookstore. lol, so I understand!

I have wondered about the Patrick Stewart bio I had heard before though that he had a rough childhood with his dad. I will have to see if my library has it.

Yeah I was way out there with this book

I knew it would be rough it's why he's such a big supporter of protecting women from domestic violence

I have the Stewart memoir on my reading list, too - interesting!
