I'm home. I'm sore but otherwise all right. Nothing horrendous showed up visually but we won't know if it got all the cancer until the pathology report on the nodes comes back.

I'll say more when I'm not exhausted from being woken up every 2 hours. One time the vampire got me at 5:00 AM and left a huge hematoma on my arm. Side eyes him.

The nurses there were great.

I'm still a bit out of it. Heaven help me if I have to cough/sneeze/laugh because that makes you work your abdomen and that is not fun.

Glad it's over, now just rest as much as possible.

I was told to hold a pillow against me if I had to cough. It did help a bit.

That's something at least. I spent a lot of time hugging a pillow, but that was 20 years ago, times and surgeries have changed a lot.

I hope you're able to avoid the coughing/sneezing/laughing part of the pain and that you get plenty of rest too. Here's hoping you recover without any complications and that, indeed, that pathology report shows no cancer anywhere else but in the tissue already excised.
