I made it home. It rained all the way. At least it was a low drizzle for the most part. I'll be here for a week.

The new characters are chatting to me all the way too. Finally. I was looking at Three Raven publishing (the ones who do the It Came from the Trailer Park anthologies) and they had
this open call I have the beginning (1100 words of it yesterday) and I have the end but how dark do I make the middle... I want to name the prince after a tree. Tentatively he's Hawthorne but I'm open to other trees. Suggestions?

My anthology book didn't arrive before I left and I'm wondering if I'm getting one of my novel at all... I hope so. If not I'll just buy the damn thing because you can get it in paperback at Amazon at least.

Broke into the Schogetten candy I got mom for early easter. It's filled with some kind of cream. All I know is it's mit milch and calcium (with milk and calcium I think so...cream?) as the whole thing is in German. It's good though.

Evil Little Dog told me Silvrethorn had found all female med schools in Scotland which I had been hoping for but MY search didn't turn up...and my search box had literally the title of the article in question. Why Google? WHY? So if you run across anything about female doctors in the 1850s -1950s and think 'eh Dana probably knows,' tell me anyhow!

The parentals are watching Grimm on Prime and I haven't seen it in forever. Tonight I was reminded how much I disliked Juliette....

Milch = milk, yes. If you like, pop me a pic of the front or back and I'll look it up/translate if you're interested.

I've stopped using google as search enginge a couple of years ago, and at the beginning was most fascinated about the differences in search results. I'm very happy with Ecosia these days, although on my phone I'm using Qwant. Really good results, usually better than google when I checked last, and much less ads.

Tree names ... here's a list of all trees and shrubs in Latin and German; since Latin comes first I suppose the German doesn't matter. It's definitely a good naming resource!
What first came to mind to me was Quercus Robur, German/English Oak, as this is very common here; we even have a regional variety which is sold world-wide. (The things you learn when you go hiking in the woods.) But as you're probably rather looking for an English term, what about Hornbeam or Rowan, depening if it's a family or forename?
