I hope it gets better

cornerofmadnessGot the royalties from Feb and I sold exactly two novels... Granted it was probably only out a week and next month will be better but it's still a bit of a gut punch. If nothing else I know there are more reviews out there than that. Maybe all of them weren't from comps.
I was reading in bed this morning and heard a peal of thunder that shook the house and then nothing. No more thunder, no rain. I started wondering did the frakkers blow up. No, but a house about 11 miles from here had. Probably a gas explosion. There was nothing left of it all the way down to the foundation. Two people were killed.
And now...how segue from that to the fandom tuesday part of this post....okay you can't.
This is definitely a YMMV situation but there is an issue with adopting manga for anime before the story is done. There are many reasons as to why it's done here is an old article as to why it's done But it basically boils down to is they want to strike while the iron is hot. I just wish there was more input from creative teams as guidance but that could also lead to spoiling the manga and no one wants that.
Personally I would rather them take hiatuses than invent stuff. But again it depends on what you want from your anime. Personally I want a faithful adaptation and not a lot of extraneous filler stuff. In thinking about the animes that I ran across this hard were ones like Fullmetal Alchemist 2003, Blue Exorcist Saiyuki, Fruits Basket, Black Butler, D. Gray-man. Some were better than others. Some I'm still mad about.
Twenty years later has not been enough time to forgive Fullmetal Alchemist 2003 for giving me Nazis and a nonsensical ending not to mention Winry and Wrath and something akin to the freaking metal terminator. Black Butler actually made a tad more sense than the WTF the manga became.
If we're lucky, and we were with Fullmetal Brotherhood and Blue Exorcist, there's a second bite at the apple and we get something far more faithful to the source.
There is no answer for this of course. They need to strike while the iron is hot when you have a winning manga, not five years down the road once the manga is over.
And I'm not sure how to wrap up my thoughts as I am tired and stressed (so much for spring break I guess) so I'll trail off here.
