The sports med doc took a host of x-rays. There are arthritic changes on the medial aspect. Not a shock. I had had 2 previous meniscus repairs before I blew the knee out. The joint space is narrowing. I know I will need a replacement but not yet. It's not all that painful.

He doesn't think it's neurogenic claudication (thankfully) but does think it's chronic compartment syndrome of the posterior compartment. Which is what I've been saying for the better part of the year. I need a MRI and a pressure test which I'm sure isn't going to be pleasant and who wants to bet my insurance is going to fight hard. Betting I have to do PT first to prove that won't 'fix' the problem (which makes no sense because most of the time it makes matters worse if we haven't addressed the ACTUAL problem first)

If it is compartment syndrome, I'll need surgery. Yipee.

I got in a little shopping but maybe I should have picked CVS instead of Kroger's. What I needed most was saline solution. But it's a holiday. I got the last buggy. By the time I got the few things I wanted all TWENTY check outs were open with at least 4 people in line. And then the volume crashed the computers. Luckily they fixed it fast.

Wish I could have fixed Tim Horton's mistake as easily. They handed me my coffee with the top on wrong and over filled. The lid popped and spilled a lot of caramel machiatto into the electronic controls for the heated seats. Fan fucking tastic. Oh well, that was the worst of the day so it wasn't so bad.

And last but definitely not least Happy birthday to [personal profile] under_the_silk_tree Hope it was a good one.

Hopefully you will not need surgery, and also hopefully you'll get the insurance to let you have those tests without having to go through needless hoops that might worsen your situation instead of helping...

I didn't quite grasp how bad dealing with insurance companies is until I moved out of Italy (very generous universal healthcare) and had to deal first-hand with the Dutch healthcare system ("public" healthcare but compulsory private insurance).

I hope you won't end up needing surgery and I hope your insurance won't make you go through pt first.

I totally appreciate the birthday wishes but my birthday is in October. I can only assume you meant to wish one of your other mutuals a Happy Birthday!
