Today was deeply weird

For one I was getting pushed (as we all were) to get ideas out there for registering students who hadn't bothered to show up for registration. My list included a business major (not my advisee) another I never heard of and two who aren't going to be majors for much longer failing out of Bio 1 which is literally the easiest of our classes.

Then D and I went to my lab to look for the instructions for a lab she left at home(I thought I had a copy but my kit was missing entirely) I said well maybe you have it on the instructor lab table because the blood lab is out there. You even have some of the plates washed and drying by the sink. I saw them when I was in the lab yesterday.

She looks at me. 'what are you talking about?'

I show her the blood lab and the dried plates.

D: Dana I'm doing this lab TODAY. I thought you did this.

Me : I did not

D: Who did?

Well since glass ware has been broken in there too I was worried and curious. I asked every other professor in the building. NONE of us did this (not that I thought they did) so who the hell broke into my lab and played with the blood testing kit (it's fake blood only so you can't test your own) We have a weird housekeeper and I can see him breaking glass but I can't see him or ANYONE playing with the equipment like this and then cleaning up.

Tired of this I wrote the dean and p ointed out we NEED security cameras. My lab is harmless but we DO keep chemicals and balances and shit that could be use in the drug manufacturing/distribution so please cameras.

Tai chi went well. I'm really glad I got this here.

Oh man I'm sorry your classroom was broken into hopefully it will lead to your dean getting security cameras.

I've never taken Tai chi but I heard it is supposed to be good for you. I am so glad you are enjoying it.

I've been doing it off and on for 30 year but never stick with tai chi, don't know why as I enjoy it

The fact that whoever broke into the lab cleaned after themselves makes me wonder if it isn't some kind of "I dare you break in and do a blood test" thing, except the students (?) who did are nice ones who didn't want to leave things unkempt, haha.
