Am I wrong in thinking in Ireland, high school sports don't come equipped with cheerleaders? I was under the impression it was more an american thing. I'm sending my irish character to his first American football game and I was wondering at some of the things he'd be more or less unfamiliar with (outside of American movies) to confound (and excite) him. Poor Taz, she gets to face him wearing one of those Q-tip marching band hats (if I had to do it...)

And thanks to [livejournal.com profile] sarakat for helping me to finally come up with a name for my first victim. Marcus. Oddly enough that's the first inital of the high school jock who used to bother me in school (Mario.)

If you knew Marcus you wouldn't mind his death much :-)

Cheerleaders are an american thing, but pretty well known to exist. If he's from Ireland he's more likely to compare it (unfavourably) to Rugby Union, all that padding and stopping and starting that's what's puzzling about american football. *grin* Hope that helps. You seem to be storming ahead with the Nano project, well done.

yeah I'm sure he would be wondering much like Giles why Americans strap on so much padding to play rugby. Thanks.

Yeah I'm going along good but the painful nodes are concerning me. Don't slow me down now, body

We have some have premiership English football games, but not many at other sporting events.

thanks. That's sort of what I thought. Having them at high school games wouldn't be the norm in Ireland
