Still no pictures

because today was long and after four days of festivals I was tired. No pictures. No cleaning. No writing. No laundry done. Did about 10 minutes of transcription of my notes. How is it nearly 11pm? Is my former student getting revenge because PT was hard today (good but hard but I did it all very well but my god are my muscles tight on the left. I think it's been so hard used as my anchor because the right is garbage, it's all tightened up)

So Saturday I did get some of the dvd situation taken care of. I have this 3 shelved thing holding them. I knew it was double stacked on the bottom. thought it was dvds...it was VHS!!! OMFG. Well a) obviously I never had those dvds off the shelf in a decade b)boy I had a lot of ballet vhs tapes (before YT obviously) c)vhs tapes meet the trash d) look the Star Wars ones before Lucas fucked it up. Keeping those even if they'll never play again e) ha, look a this collection of gay anime on VHS, hey FAKE (badly_knitted will approve)

So I put most of it back. Separated out multiple ones to get rid as I will never, ever watch them again, like the whole Vincent Kartheiser collection which was never very good and now that I know he's pretty much trash out they go. But I have to go redo the shelves. Why am I putting the dvds of the movies that are on tv constantly out on the shelves? Put them in the drawers because I won't need them. Why haven't I gotten rid of them? I'm a little afraid that this stuff will get locked away forever and I don't want to lose them. I have one more bin to go through so I can resort things then (was meant to be today but it didn't do it)

Also let's see if I can get my ass banned from pintrest which blurs out multiple Hazbin pins as 'adult content' but you can't even see what it was to appeal it. So I went off on that, them using AI to determine this AND if you're this concerned explain why the fuck I have to wade through multiple sexualized ads to even USE your site.

Vivziepop has made official video to fan songs. Fans have put this one by paranoid DJ on the list of ones they HOPE will get that treatment. Right now we have multiple fan animatics to it. I'm fond of this one and of this song (probably the most listened to at the moment of all my Us)

As far as I know, there was only the one, based on part of Volume 2 of the manga, I just wish there was more.

Oooh, if you get time to watch them you might find something good! The hard part always seems to be finding the time.

I'd be happy to have more of the manga, especially translated into English. Most of the Backstage Pass stories haven't been translated, just the first two.

Days go by too fast. I don't know where the time even goes.

that happened back in the early 2000s too. they brought over SO much manga that they couldn't find the audiences and quit them like 4 volumes in and then it collapsed, came back and we're right back there again.

The market is there, but flooding it doesn't work. People can't keep up.

exactly. Every trip I make to books a million there are so many new titles I don't even know where to start and if I do will there be another volume or will it collapse again.

I suspect you and I are close in age. I'm not sure how far back your interest in manga/anime is but I remember in the 80s ordering everything from Bud Plant, a catalog here in the States that could get the manga/anime...untranslated for the most part and a lot of us would send the VHS tapes out to be (illegally) subtitled in some place in Canada so yeah the market is there but flooding it never ends well

I didn't really get into manga until somewhere around 2010. I was reading graphic novels before then, but here in the UK manga wasn't easy to get unless you could go someplace like Forbidden Planet, which I couldn't. A local store that sold damaged copies of books at a cheaper price got some manga in, so I picked up a few bits and pieces. Wasn't until I got hooked on FAKE thanks to a Torchwood/AKE crossover fic that I went on ebay looking, and bit by bit I got all 7 volumes, then did the same with FMA. Those are the only two complete manga I own though.

ah yeah that's not too surprising. Honestly anime and manga didn't become easy in the states until about 2000-2002 (I thank Cowboy Bebop for that) In the 90s we had it as regular comic books, flipped and cut and hard to find (and expensive)

FMA remains my absolute favorite of all time. I have more manga than is healthy though (slowly parring it down)

I think I have the first two Cowboy Bebop, not sure. A friend sent me the first one I think.

FAKE (of course) is still my favourite, I just love my boys, but FMA is a close second. Took me a long time to collect all the volumes from ebay, because I didn't want to pay exorbitant prices.

I think they're rereleasing FAKE here now. I know they're doing FMA in big hardcovered omnibuses and I want them but know I don't need them as I have all the others

Oooh! If they do a re-release, maybe they'll release some of the Back Stage Pass stories as well in translated form. I know they're decidedly adult rated, but there must surely be a market...

Hardcovers would definitely be tempting...

Hardback, compendiums... I think I have all of the 2000AD comics stories - Judge Dredd, Nemesis the Warlock etc - in lovely big paperback editions.

I'm in the catch 22 of I'm preferring the trade paperback collections vs the individual comics but if the individual ones fail then there are no trade collections

That's always a serious quandary, although it might be possible to sell the individual issues later. Some people prefer them in that format.
