How do the days go so fast?

My brother woke me up this morning (I think morning people forget night people go to bed about the time they wake up) So we have bumped the Mexico trip to March (yay) and did I want to join him and my SiL at a cabin in the Hocking Hills (you know 30miles from where I live) Yeah sure why not. I want to hike and I can't do it alone. I can hike with them and if they want to do a bigger trail, I can go back and write in the woods.

It's also my job to look for things that we can do if it rains since I know the area. Easy enough.

I went to the coffee shop and to Kroger only to learn that someone messed up. Usually Manager's special are 50% off but someone marked all the roses off like they were daisies or mums or something. I got this bouquet for 1.75$ (I even went thru the self check out in case someone decided nope you can't have that)




I came home and suddenly it was 6 pm. I cleaned nothing. I wrote nothing. However at the coffee shop I was researching things to do around Cardiff and found St Lythans (well I knew about it since I've been there) and it fit in with what I already had plotted so well you'd think that was always my plan.

Have I mentioned I'm kinda sorta doing Nano on my own since it would have been my 20th year (though I'm watching their emails because I'm kinda curious which pros are going to be doing the cheerleading after the series of missteps and idiocy in the last 2 years.) I may or may not post tidbits here. we'll see.

I'm doing Nano as well- my region is basically doing its own thing, just as though actual Nano was going on with the regional structures in place.

I'm curious though- have you received any emails from them? I feel like I may have unsubscribed at one point because I've gotten a couple "status of the scandal" things, but nothing recently at all. Not even the random ones when you hit various goals. It's all so surreal.

I'm just over 7k in and not hating it yet, so that's a plus.

I'm doing MiniWriMo which I've almost always done. 50K in one month is just a little much for me just before the holidays.

I have NO idea how I manage every year between the holidays and the end of the semester insanity. (maybe I should look into miniwrimo next year as I am officially done with Nano and their stupidity)

Ohhhh, hikes in company sound like a brilliant option and writing in the woods sounds... awesome! I'm mildly envious, but mostly really happy for you that it turned out that way.

Hiking in company that goes slow like me is even better. We'll see how that goes. My brother won't be too bad I don't think. I'm much happier doing this than leaving this country 3 days after an election this ugly.

Maybe deals can be made on them going a bit faster for a longer trail on their own while they go slowly when you go along? Yeah, I don't envy you on that account, I hope things will somehow turn out okay!

My brother will probably hang back as his wife has MS (My father wouldn't) I've been hiking with people who promised to hold back and don't which is why I started hiking alone. (Even before my injury, I've been asthmatic with a genetic anemia so I've always been slow and I blew out my knee at 18 the first time it happened)

Honestly it might have been a parting shot as a worker quit (they were complaining about staff turn over. Kroger like most big companies pays crap)

Well that sounds like a good group to go hiking with. I hope it won't be impacted by the rest of the people joining you, but I suppose you can just go in two teams if you hike when your parents join you?

I have to admit that I did think that that might be the case. - Hope they don't get into too much trouble for it.

Yeah here's hoping. I think Gen Z is into these petty little jabs some days. Like today the kids at Subway gave literally two bags filled with mustard packets with the sandwich order for the group thing.
