Connor/ Cordy - S4 - Waste Not Want Not

"You’re a genius. I’m lucky if I can boil water," Cordy said, ladling out another bowl of savory strew from the pan on the hot pot.

Connor shrugged, shoveling some into his mouth. "Just stole some veggies from those markets. I always cooked for Father."

"I don’t like you stealing but in this case, you’re forgiven," Cordy smiled at him. "Where’d you steal the meat from?"

"Didn’t."

"What do you mean didn’t?"

"That was the Uncenier demon from last night. Never waste good meat or skins, Father always said," Connor replied.

She puked out the window.

"What? It’s good," Connor insisted.

Dawn/Connor - post series - Staying In

"Staying in is going to be so fun," Dawn put the meal on the table. "A little food, a little stolen from Buffy wine, a little cuddling. Of course Buffy never has much food around so I had to improvise." Dawn lit the candles.

"I’m not fussy." Connor looked at the dish, one creamy with yellow eggs, like eyes looking at him and the other smelling of tuna. He chose that one and nearly gagged.

"Like it?"

"It’s everything Spike and Angel told me it would be," he said diplomatically.

"Creamed Spam and Tuna Twinkie Souffle."

Connor suppressed a wince.  * AN - both recipes can be found on line....

Buffy Post Chosen - Italian Delicacies

Giles admonishments to remember they were guests in foreign lands and to be polite and respectful of local customs rang in Buffy’s ears as she sat down to the spread laid out by the villagers of a small rustic town, where she had gone to save them from some demon she had never seen before. In gratitude they made a feast. Was it too late to fake vegetarianism? A sheep’s brain cooked in the skull, cheese with worms, cuttlefish in its ink over pasta. She picked through it, saving herself for dessert...turned out to be blood and chocolate. Gag.

* AN - no I don't know what my relatives are smoking but these are all real, cervello della pecora is sheep brains roasted in the sheep's head, Sardinian pecorino al Vermie is cheese with live worms in it, seppia negro is cuttlefish in its own ink and sanguinaccio is a sweet blood pudding with pig's blood and chocolate
