Day 22: 1133 words of "Turning of the Year" — almost finished a chapter but didn't have quite enough energy to do it well. It looks like Monday's about to get her redemption arc here, if she's smart enough to take it. (But IDK if she will be...)

Oh, it will definitely be more interesting if she doesn't. I just don't know if I have the heart to do it to her! (Despite several attempts, I've yet to be able to write a character who deliberately chooses to be bad. "You Can Tell" and "Going Backstage" were both attempts at that, but in both cases the character took the redemption arc when it was offered.)

Oddly enough in fandom I love writing villains (Spike/Dru, Angelus/Darla from Buffy, Kimbley from Fullmetal Alchemist, multiple serial killers in Prodigal Son and Valentino and Vox in Hazbin Hotel)

That said when it comes to creating my OWN villains I suck

Oddly, I can write villains, just not bad people, if that makes any sense. I'd have an easier time writing someone who'd kill their girlfriend than someone who'd cheat on them, you know?

Checking in for days 19-23. (Good grief, where DOES the time go? /0\ ). 1,3k for the 19th with a lot of fic happening; around 300ish on the other days, nonfic + alibi sentence. I've been a bit - ahem - distracted these last days; found out Skyrim does run on Win11 now and started a new game after not having played for over a year. Time-eating game, that. But as playing Skyrim always gets my writing motivation up high after the initial few days of intense playing, so I don't even mind.
