ooo love country music

Lindsey - S2 - Lyrical

His fingers strummed the strings filling Caritas with the music he was once afraid to let anyone at Wolfram and Hart know he loved. He didn’t want to be branded a hick, crashing into a glass ceiling because he was in the wrong social circles. Now country was cool.

Lindsey found it to be the most ‘real’ music he had ever heard. It defined a part of his life he would like to forget but at the same time it comforted him. He could be something other than a corporate puppet when he sang. He lost himself in the lyrics.

Willow - Post chosen - Who You’d Be Today

Willow remembered when Xander called country music, the music of pain. That seemed so long ago. He’d been so right about that. Scanning through the channels as she and Kennedy drove to Houston to handle some big bad she strayed across Kenny Chesney’s song about a young girl who died too young. ‘Like a story that had just begun but death tore the pages all away.’ She thought about Tara, fighting not to sob when he hit the part about no one else taking her place. Willow lied to Kennedy when she asked what was wrong. ‘Miss you, Tara.’

Dawn & Faith - Post Chosen/NFA - Devious Women

"Why are you torturing them?" Faith asked Dawn.

"Because it’s fun. Angel and Spike are so overly competitive it’s insane." Dawn smiled. "It’s like watching two peacocks strutting around trying to impress Buffy."

Faith snorted. "You know, B would probably just take them both, do the polyamory thing. That’s the way to go."

Dawn shrugged. "Probably more your thing. Until then, I’m having a great time thinking up ways for them to compete for her. Now seriously, what could be funnier than Spike and Angel line dancing to Boot Scootin’ Boogie?"

"I’ll be there with the video camera." Faith laughed.

Angel & Lorne - Post NFA - Truth About Men

"Thanks for doing this Lorne. When Connor told me he thought there was something big going down at Stanford, I had to help," Angel said.

"I’m still out of the fighting end of this, Angel-cakes," Lorne looked at the stage where Connor and his fraternity brothers belted out ‘The Truth About Men,’ much to Angel’s chagrin. Connor shouldn’t be like that.

"Understood. Any ideas as to what it is?"

Lorne wagged his head. "That boy of yours lives in interesting times."

"Strictly in the Chinese sense," Angel said ruefully.

"And bad country music is gonna cost you extra, Angel."

Connor - Post NFA - Bittersweet Memories

He couldn’t explain to his roommate why he was crying. After all, Men are Like Shoes wasn’t a sad song like the rest of the country music John liked to listen to. If it were Skin or something like that it would be understandable. It was just comparing men to shoes reminded him so much of Cordy. He could see her doing that.

Even though he knew their ‘love’ was something twisted by a hell goddess to bring about her own birth, it felt real to him. Cordelia was dead because of him. He missed her so much it hurt.

Ensemble - Post series - Tequila

Angel eyed Connor’s cowboy boots and hat. "Do I even want to know, son?"

"Your brat is fruitier than you," Spike snorted.

"She wants me to dress like this. She got into the music at school," Connor replied, offended.

"The things we do for women." Angel shook his head.

"I’m just hoping Nichols is right and tequila makes her clothes fall off." Connor grinned, echoed by his older ‘relatives.’

Dawn came out and linked arms with him. "Ready?"

"No he’s not!" Spike growled. "There’ll be no tequila for my Dawnie."

"In your dreams, Captain Peroxide."

"Tequila’s my favorite," Dawn said.

"Perfect!"

Who wouldn't be? Spike would probably try it. Angel would probably just stake himself to avoid it

I see your using Jaki's icon. *grin*

LOVE the last one. It makes me giggle. So does the peacock one - the idea of vampires line dancing to "Boot Scootin' Boogie" is probably a highly frightening prospect but good of Dawn to think up. Hee.

Willow's memory was very sweet.

yep, got it up. like the maniac grin.

glad you liked them. What you don't see in that last one is Angel going all papa bear to keep Connor safe from Spike AND Buffy
