No, it's not as lewd as it sounds. Been working up writing soundtracks (does anyone else do this) and I was talking to southernbangel , sarakat andevil_little_dog  about it. I'm looking for angsty songs about two people in love not being able to be with each other. They pointed out that of course B/A people do have reams of material in this realm but a lot of it is sappy.

I'm not looking for sap. I don't do sap but I am interested in what people would think make a good song to write to that would invoke those feelings. So, if you have a good angsty in love but can't be together not too sappy song, tell me about it, regardless of genre. And if you know where I can hear snips of it let me know that too since my library does not carry any music so I can't get a hold of things easily. Thanks. This ought to be interesting.

Not sure if it would be too sappy in your consideration, but how about Tom Waits' "Broken Bicycles"? There's a snippet or somesuch here (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00016XO6A/qid=1137812988/sr=1-24/ref=sr_1_24/002-1271874-0554457?s=music&v=glance&n=5174).

Amazon.com has previews of a lot of music it seems, so might be worth checking anything you can't find elsewhere there, as long as you know the artist and album.

Hi, I don't like sappy love songs, for the most part, I like them lyrical and I like them passionate and angsty. Generally I like anything punk/rock/alt, and some soft stuff like Michelle Branch, Sarah McLachlan, Chantal Kreviazuk. So brace yourself, it's going to be long.

I have a bunch of songs, only a few of which I know where you can get snippets, but if you know the song/album/band then you could probably go on amazon or chapters website and hear them.

I really find that by merely reading the lyrics (which are pretty angsty and intense) you might get a good feel of the song, as I said before not your typical love song, but I get that sense of longing and desperation when I listen to them, I think about B/A at its worse and most intense.

Awesome, I loved Thrown to the Wolves so much, I went out and bought all their albums, they were worth the money. They actually have a new one out, so I can't wait to get that.

Fate isn't on TttW, it's on a short length one, but it aired at the beginning of "Halloween" when Buffy is late for her date with Angel, if you want to hear it. :)

No prob, I listen to a lot of songs because I like to use lyrical applications on my graphics.

oh hey thanks. I'll have to wait probably until monday to drag those down (I love Tori). I figure with over 600 cds, I don't really have a type of music. I think for this sound track so long as it's not hiphop or punk the tone will fit. I did see Mom's post too but thanks for reminding me since I forgot
