Big Surprise, not

Okay before I get into the unsurprising doctor's visit, let me say for those of you who tried to look at my story last night, I've given you a whole new link. Bah.
Cut for TMI on icky woman things So my new ob/gyn is a bit of an odd duck. She lived in WI too. Treated me like a professional so bonus points, offered to have me work on her farm if I wanted the exercise and was very concerned that I didn't have a pet for company. Her family runs the cat shelter I'll probably take Scieska too.
I tell her my problems and ask do I need a D&C? She nods and says that or a biopsy but the D &C would be better. She had an ultrasound machine in the office and let me say this, she's good. THe pap smear was painless and so was that ultrasound (the last time it was like someone using a freaking jackhammer). At first the uterus was hiding. I said, 'told you it was flipped over backwards.' She did find it. It's nearly three times too thick so in I go in two weeks to get that fixed. The cysts are all under 5 cm so I don't have to get them taken out (yay). They drew blood for me and gave me a tetanus shot. I'm thinking why do I need that? Does she plan to do the curretage with a coat hanger (pretty much the same thing my dad said when I told him about the shot). It was out of date so I guess she was just being thorough (Must enter this in my medical records). She even set me up with an appointment to see the endocrinologist (yay) and a mammogram (ugh, nothing like squashing the D cups)
And I really miss hospitals. I do. I get depressed every time I leave one. I miss the bustle, the stress, the exhiliration, hell I even miss the funky smells. I miss my life.
And my dad had his hand operated on for scar tissue impingment of his thumb. He's doing good. The doctor suggested getting a bell so Dad could summon mom when he needed her. Mom told the doc (a family friend) to go to hell. Dad says he's not in any pain. Mom said she's feeding dad his narcotics so he won't BE a pain.
my students did even worse on today's exam. I let them have 10 extra minutes then threw them literally out of the room.

Date: 2006-02-03 11:58 pm (UTC)It's good you've got a good doctor, there's nothing worse than when you're sitting there wondering if they even went to medical school or ig they just decided last week this would make a nice change from MacDonalds.
