Since I'm recovering from surgery right now I can sympathsize with the blahs.

Joyce - Post- Op

The doctor said she could get up and start doing things. About time too, Joyce thought. She was never one to lay around in bed and let her girls take care of her. Staying in bed with attentive servants was something that was so much better when one was well and the servant sexy.

It didn’t take long before Joyce had to give up putzing around the house and admit she was still feeling blah. On one hand she hated that the surgery made her so weak. On the other, she was so grateful for the chance at living.

Giles - Being Sick

This was the problem with living alone. Giles stretched out on the couch with a bowl of chicken soup, a cup of tea and an irrational desire to have his mum here to take care of him. He had a box of tissues within easy reach. To quote the kids, the flu sucked. He wanted a little comfort which wasn’t to be found in his empty apartment. Giles turned on the tv that he paid far too much for in cable given how little he watched. He smiled finding Black Adder on BBCAmerica. That should at least cure the blahs.

These are both great. I especially loved the Giles ones - he did get neglected a lot, but I suppose that is to be expected with kids.

thanks. Yes, they did tend to think adults were utterly self sufficient

Aww, poor Giles. I liked them both very much.

Hope you're starting to feel better!

pretty good actually. Just a little weak but otherwise almost no post operative bleeding or cramping. Guess I'm lucky

Lucky is good!

My friend recently went in to get a lump removed from her breast. No food or drink before hand, of course. They gave her a glass of OJ afterwards--she was just hanging out in recovery from an out-patient procedure. Then she went home, same day.

At home, she started to have some post-operative bleeding--I think they didn't quite sew her up right and she was having "complications". A mutual friend took her back to the hospital, but of course they couldn't fix their mistake right away because of the OJ. She ended up having to stay overnight.

yep one of themore common complications would have been the inability to void since they shoved all sorts of anesthestic in that area. Again, I got lucky
