Your computer fucking sucks. Yes you heard me. Now not only is it randomly not working like it has since day one. The tower is vibrating so hard it falls OFF the back of teh stand. Are you going to tell me this is a software issue too?

And it ATE my last chapter of my Happy Endings ficathon. Yes. I was finished you piece of shit computer. And now I have to retype it all. I hate you. Shrivel up and die.

The hard drive on my Dell at work completely crapped out last week. The damn thing wasn't even a year old.

my first Dell's hard drive lasted less than 6 months. This one has been wrong since day one. I TRIED not to buy another Dell but it was the only thing I could afford. I STILL have the box in my apt. I keep wanting to send it back to them

Got any irreplacable data on there?

i backed the thing up as soon as it started shimmying. I know it's gonna blow. This is exactly how it happened with the first dell

That's good. Ya can always try to see if you can get something (preferably cash) from their support department. Just try to hog the line, and climb up to second then third tier, and it will start costing them more money to not send something your way.

And Dells do suck. I've been through about 7 of their laptops in 5 years. Thankfully, they're all company issue.

Add in that they both sound and weigh about the same as a dual engine prop plane. grr.

HP is doing pretty nicely these days for cheap mass produced machines. I'm on my second after about 5 or 6 years, and the first one's still being used for graphics and holding up decently well, last I heard.

HP and Gateway were out of my price range when the other Dell died. You know if it happened now I'd be okay but I had only been working for a month at the time. Grrrr

You can get a great HP tower for about $500. Even at Best Buy.

We have no best buy and when I called HP direct it was closer to 1000$ for the whole system

Creepy. I just helped my mother get one, and even with a few bells & whistles it was still under $800.

the weird thing was I missed all teh back to school sales by just a few weeks and the Christmas sales by a month. It was the whole timing of the thing. My parents didn't believe me since they had to loan me the money. I siad fine call around. They did and bought me this. Now I see HP's for so much less.

If you have any sort of shop of the type (Circuit City, Best Buy, even the office supply stores), pay them a visit in person. You can get some phenomenal deals on the floor models, as long as you're willing to wait around for 20 minutes for them to uninstall the demo software, and pack the machine up. They usually won't tell you over the phone, since they want you to buy the newer more expensive machine, of course.

They discontinue models all the time these days just to be able to bump the clock speeds up a tiny bit.

Is it wrong that your anger is amusing to me? Not your situation I mean, because that fucking sucks and I would definitely kill things if that happened.

But whoa, are you awesome when you're mad :P

So I'm guessing I've lucked out that my generic laptop, Rover, is only just now getting a bit eccentric after six years of use. I'm dreading the day Rover finally gives up the ghost. I might have to get a Dell, if it's all I can afford. Ugh.

For the love of [insert favourite deity here], DON'T! Heh. It'll end up costing more in the long run.

I seriously have that piece of crap computer you have.

But I like how the hard drive of your brain is better than the hard drive of the computer. Mine's the opposite.

my brainy hard drive was better but only because I had just typed the thing a few hours before. It was still better the first time out

Whooooooaaaa. Shall I rephrase that to "I seriously HATE that piece of crap computer you have".

Man, does that suck. My brother has bought Dell exclusively for umpteen years and loves them. Of course, he always buys fairly expensive ones. I have an HP at work and I've had two Gateways at home and I've been very satisfied with both, even with the first Gateway which was probably the cheapest one they had. Too bad you were stuck having to get a Dell if their lower end computers are so poorly built.

I had a Gateway that STILL works. I had it 3 years before I bought EITHER Dell and it'll put them both in the grave.
