Okay last week I started getting a strange metallic taste in my mouth and thought maybe it was IN water which I wasn't used to. It's gotten worse this week. Today it's so bad my tongue and throat feel numb. I can't eat anything. It all tastes more or less like cholorseptic. Even my mouth wash didn't get rid of it. In fact when I tried that the bad taste seemed to surge to overwhelm the mouthwash.

I have no clue what this could be. Might go to urgent care tomorrow if it's still there because the numbness and loss of taste are signs of SOMETHING.

Have you checked your gums and general soft tissues in there? I've had that sort of thing creep up from infections.

that's what I'm thinking. It SEEMS to be coming from a tooth that was recently filled

It might be loose and have been rubbing away at something for the last couple of months. There's a good chance urgent care is just going to say to go see the dentist so it may be worth saving the money, time and frustation in skipping them.

Which is awful, because this sort of thing always seems to happen on a friday night.

i have no idea. It almost seems to be coming from the new filling (called the dentist, wasn't in) but why now and not two months ago I don't know. I also started on two new meds. will call pharmacy tomorrow

According to a recent episode of _House_ that's a symptom of kidney failure, but you'd be dead by now if that were the case. So I guess it's just arsenic poisoning. Time to start patting down your failing students when they come into class.

very strange. i've heard of weird tastes in mouths being the sign of some illness, but you'd know a helluva lot better than i would.

good luck. here's hoping it's just the filling in the tooth and can be fixed easily, or just one of the new meds.
