Well I'm now officially a whole year older. Feels pretty much the same. Dad's observation, he should be married to someone my age not have a daughter that age. Mom's main concern was that I was wearing my Fellowship of the Ring elfin pin her and dad got me for my birthday to dinner since she was wearing hers (yes mom. Luckily she was too tired to call me at 2:00 AM, she likes to call me and wish me happy birthday at that hour since it was when I was born and 30+ years later she still hasn't gotten over it).

All in all the day started bad since I was sick and I had to study. About a half hour of that and I said, no, I can't do this. I've earned a day off and my brain is exploding. Started feeling better immediately. Spent the day editing my Connor Ficathon story. That ficathon was my birthday present to me. So far it's turned out pretty well. Most of the fic was turned in and the rest should be here soon. My story came out pretty good.

I saw Sci-Fi was rerunning The Incredible Hulk so I had to watch. I used to love that show growing up. Seeing it now I wonder if I was totally brain damaged back then. It's SOOOO bad. I've been complaining lately about the sound tracks on current tv shows. While I like the music and I'm thankful for the titles afterwards usually it's too LOUD. It even blares over dialogue. Well, it wasn't much softer in the 70's it turns out and they had stuff that sounded like bad porn music. No lie, turn on the Hulk and listen. It's not by chance Lou Ferringo is mostly naked. All he needs is the horny nurse to show up and tend his wounds.

My brother sent me a card to tell me I'm old (right back at you John). Sharon treated me out to dinner at the Crazy Buffet (THANK YOU). It's the biggest and supposedly best Asian Fusion place in Orlando area. It's very nice inside with a sushi bar, a hibachi bar, filet mignon bar, a cook your own Chinese "crazy wok"  bar, a salad bar and then the typical Chinese dinner bar, peking duck bar and a dessert bar. We got there just in time. No waiting and no crowds (later you couldn't even get NEAR the bars where they cook stuff for you). My meal is free (good thing since this place is $20+). I head for the sushi bar and try all the stuff that's too expensive when I go to my regular sushi place (which is better). THe spicy octopus and spicy shrimp were wonderful though. I'm still trying to figure out how the egg sushi is so sweet. There were things I had no idea what they were but they were all pretty good.

Had some kind of hinjuki (sp?) seaweed salad (didn't like), mussels, snowcrab legs, fried sea scallops, crab rangoon, crab claws, a clear noodle garlicy salad, coconut shrimp, salt and pepper shrimp, buttered seafood and probably a ton of other stuff. I decided to skip the chicken and there weren't much in the way of meats on the already done bars (I decided I wasn't in the mood for the hibachi or crazy wok bars) outside of pork. I was in the mood for seafood. I wanted to try the peking duck but they made it for you in big pancakes and that would have been a waste. I know I don't like duck but I just wanted to try it once. Ah well, should have done it. Got a bunch of desserts then they brought me an expresso cake with a candle and a fortune cookie on it. My fortune was You have a curious smile and a mysterious nature. It was good, it was fun. It was overpriced because it was just good, not great but that didn't stop it from being packed to the gills on a thursday night (it's a franchise...hmmm)

Sharon got me a couple of really nice autographs. One is of Giles and Willow signed by both Ally and Tony. It's a pic I've been wanting for a while. The other is of Vincent Kartheiser. Funny thing, buying gifts for me on line or catalogue, it never really works. It always gets lost, back ordered or we get the wrong thing. One of the things She got me is A.W.O.L. and the Vinnie pic well....the ebayer got sick and ended up putting the wrong pictures in the wrong envelopes. Instead of the shot of Connor I've never seen before or since, she sent one of him from Alaska. Sigh. It IS cute but since he's like 12 or something in this it makes you feel weird owning it. Still, they're both great autographs (both VK and Tony have such flowery siggies). I was gonna put them in here but they're so huge I'll have to resize them. I'll play with that later.

Sharon also had these two great icons made for me. The baby in the picture isn't actually baby Connor it's the youngest geekgirl, our Webmistress Chris's daughter. Chris is the one who made this icon.

And Sabine was commissed to make this one. They're both wonderful icons.

And thanks to everyone with their well wishes and thanks in advance for the gifts I know are still on the way.
