I see something too cool for words in [livejournal.com profile] a2zmom 's lj and just had to copy it.

Give me a song title. Any song title. It doesn't matter if I know the song or not. I have to write a fic or drabble based on that song title. You can't give me a genre or pairing or fandom. Just the song title. I'll take it from there

Fun huh? I'll try to make sure I tailor fandoms to fit you. Give me a few days because well I have another drabble thing I'm doing and oh I've yet to start typing my Buffy Love story. (at least I know where it's going), not to mention i developed two kink stories for the Cuff 'em ficathon

i think I'll vote for thinking on it too much. You're right of course about prejudice but told from Harry's pov or not, every bad guy so far that has any amount of time on stage is from Slytherin, which frankly just bores me. if there is one complaint I have about the books it's I always know half the trouble is going to come from that house. I'd rather see a turncoat from somewhere else. That woudl at least be a surprise

you know, I'm not sure I ever knew which house he was from but I guess it stands to reason he was Gryffyndor. of course he's so mousy (no pun intended) he never enters my mind

Well, that was the point of him after all, no one ever noticed him.

But it's already one exception. And we only know recent wizarding history.

i think the problem is outside of Gryffyndor the rest of the houses are mere sketches

True. There is a bit more about Slytherin of course but still not alot and the Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff houses are practically invisible.

And as I was saying to Jaki, people in Ravenclaw could easily be led astray when seeking knowledge, and those in Hufflepuff aren't exactly talentless either (take Cedric Diggory) so it is more likely that people from those houses could go bad too rather than the idea that only Slytherins are bad.

true but that's just not how she's writing it. Then again not all of Slytherin is bad, mostly just the Malfoys and you almost feel sorry for Draco, he doesn't have the will to really fight his father and he's a perfect example of what spoiling does

Yes, that's true, in the books we don't get them doing any real good or bad, it's like they're just there. It doesn't feel all that realistic.

And that is quite accurate about Draco, plus the fact that in the last book he was scared of what they'd do to his mother if he failed or didn't go along with them.

i thought the stuff with Draco the most interesting and telling parts of the last book (which bored the crap out of me) i wish we had had more of that and less of Harry wandering around in the past. There was no threat at all in that book until the last few chapters
