Imagine that
Apr. 26th, 2006 10:40 pmA Bones I didn't hate.
I even made it all the way through it and I didn't even grit my teeth in Brennan's direction (well once when she didn't get a slang word that anyone would have.) What I liked about it is they ALMOST got the science right, or at least got the subject matter right. There IS a huge black market for bone, skin and tendons of the dead. And there ARE sick and twisted morticians and hospital staff that are illegally harvesting it.)
Problem 1 -I don't think mesotheiloma GOES to bone. It's a cancer of the connective tissue (mesothelium) that overlies all our organs. Also, cancer that advanced would be VISIBLE as tumor in the graft. No one would have inserted it. They would have been better off using infected bone. THis has happened. Often now relatively speaking because of the black market).
Problem 2 - shall I ignore the likely hood of ALL those people getting this cancer?
Problem 3 - how the hell could Angela reconstruct a face with only a tiny piece of chin? And again a surgeon implanting arthritic knees? Nope, those would have been kicked for quality. Okay everything Angela does with that hologram stuff is unrealistic)
Still it was more watchable than most episodes. Oh and if you're wondering why do I bother? I really don't. I eat a late lunch on Wed. So a light dinner is taken around 8 pm and I sit in front of the tv and that's the only thing on or else I'd never see it
And the first prompt at the original fic thingie is off and running. Go us.
