Giles - S 2 - Shameful Past

His hand shook as he decanted some scotch into a crystalline glass. What he really wanted was to just swig it from the bottle. Because of one of his old friends, Buffy nearly died tonight. Innocent children had been turned into monsters by Ethan and to what end? Giles knew this display of power was to get his attention. Why now? What did Ethan really want? Giles knew it would be nothing benign. Having his past catch up to him had always been his greatest fear. The question remained, what would he do to protect his future from it?



Angel - S 1 Guilt

He knew what was happening but how could he tell his friends? Would they look at him accusingly? Kate surely would and he wouldn’t blame her. His past was disgusting and now something had crawled out of it and had come looking for him. Angel knew what the crosses carved into the victims’ cheeks meant. He had taught Penn that trick. How could he tell that to Kate and Cordelia? Would they look into his eyes and see the joy he used to take in that? Why couldn’t his past just stay buried? Maybe he was undeserving of such mercy.



Angel - S3 - Fear

Vengeance had caught up with him at long last and was pointing a crossbow at his new born son. This was not justice. As the rain pelted down, Angel made his choice. He was about to hand his baby to Fred and allow Holtz to kill him if only he’d let his boy go when suddenly the man just whirled and walked away. Angel didn’t know what this reprieve meant but he would make the most of it. He felt as if the sins of the past were washing away in the rain and he could start anew.



Faith - post NFA - memory pot holes

He said he knew her but she couldn’t remember him. All Faith knew was Angel had sent the kid to help her out when she found herself over her head in Las Vegas. Connor kicked ass as good as any Slayer and he had fun parts that her sisters didn’t so she didn’t have to go far to take care of that hungry and horny thing slaying did to her. Faith might not remember him but Connor looked at her with more than lust. He respected her abilities. That more than made up for a hole in her memory.
