payback drabbles and birthday wishes

Happy belated birthday to lenia_ba & scribesds!!!

Sorry ladies. I'm sort of on 'vacation' (ha!) and can't get to the computer all the time. Hope you had wonderful days.

Managed to squeeze out two interconnected drabbles while on vacation.



Connor gawked at Angel as his father met him at the appointed place in Disney. Angel wore a Hawaiian shirt so loud Connor was sure it could be heard in London, khaki shorts and sandals with socks.

“Where’s the new girlfriend you wanted me to meet?” Angel grinned.

“In the forever line at the restroom…what the hell are you wearing?” Connor growled.

“What’s wrong son?” The smile broadened.

“You look like an idiot.”

“Remember the stunt with a metal box and the ocean, Connor? Consider this payback.” Angel’s smile went all Angelus.

“I am scarred for life.”

“Perfect!” Angel beamed.




“Thanks for coming, Dad.” Connor said, opening his dorm door. The look on Angel’s face was priceless. Dark eyes swept over Connor, taking in the white face powder, black eyeliner and scarlet velvet poet’s shirt. His gaze seemed to get stuck on the multiple eyebrow and earrings Connor had gotten for the occasion.

“What are you? A vampire prostitute.”

“Just dressing for the concert.” Connor held up their tickets.

“What the hell are we going to hear?” Angel stammered.

“H.I.M. Bet you never wear another Hawaii shirt to embarrass me again.” Connor showed his inherited Angelus smirk.

“Evil little bastard.”

Bwah! I really can't decide which one is funnier..... Ah, hell with it. They just work brilliantly together. I'm having flashbacks to "Herb Saunders" in Sense and Sensitivity. As for Connor... Well, I don't know what to imagine (but I must admit, my inner former-Goth Salome is trying very, very hard to picture it).
