Rating - NC-17
Time Line - Post anime with various changes, like anything and everything alluding to the movie. Has some elements of the manga mixed in.
Pairing - Gracia/Maes/Riza/Roy (in no particular order) this story contains foursome sex and has a mix of het, yaoi and yuri and oh yeah a heavy dose of voyeurism
Summary - A freshly human Alphonse takes time while in hiding from Bradley Loyalists to enjoy a beautiful fall day and his natural curiosity takes him places he didn’t know existed.
Author’s Note #1 - This is the third story in a series taking place after the anime with a variety of changes. It’s not necessary to read the others to read this, they’re all stand alones. What you need to know is: Al’s human and at his proper age. Ed’s still here but didn’t get his body parts back. While the heat is still on from Bradley Loyalists, Ed, Al, Riza and Roy are on the move, still working but keeping low profiles. In the first story we learn someone from Roy’s past isn’t dead after all and he’s joined them. Story #1 -
If Happiness Forgets You
Story #2 - not yet done, drabbles in this AU by [livejournal.com profile] mjules Brown
Author’s Note #2 - This was written in conjunction for the [livejournal.com profile] color_i_fic ‘ Garden of Eden’ challenge, using the color ‘chestnut’ and for the [livejournal.com profile] fullservicefma's June challenge using the word ‘beach.’

Dear Paninya,

you’ll never believe what Brother and I saw yesterday. I was going to start this letter telling you about how much I missed you and Rush Valley, only you already know the first part and the second part really isn’t true. I know it’s your home but it’s so rocky and brown. It’s lovely here, all green and alive. There’s a lake with a nice beach not far from our new house and there are chestnuts. Brother and I used to collect them for Mother. That’s where all the trouble started yesterday, under the chestnut trees.

* * *

“It’s too nice to be autumn,” Al said, setting down his bag full of chestnuts on a mushroom-studded stump. He wiped the sweat off his forehead. Al’s honey brown hair twisted riotously from the humidity.

“More like summer,” Ed agreed, glancing at his overstuffed sack. He plucked a chestnut from within, running his fingers over it. The burnished brown of the nut looked lustrous in his hand. “Remember Mom coddling chestnuts in wine and wouldn’t let us have any? We’d have to sneak them.”

“But she’d always roast us a bunch.” Al nodded in remembrance. The forbidden wine ones, reserved for the Rockbells, had always tasted somehow sweeter than the roasted ones, not that the brothers hadn’t coveted those, too. “We can do that.”

“No roasting, too hot for that and you just know the bastard would take over any project involving fire,” Ed snorted, not having learned to get along with Roy in all the long weeks they’d been tossed together with him and Hawkeye, keeping mobile and ahead of Bradley’s Loyalists.

“Roy isn’t that bad, Ed,” Al said and his brother rolled his eyes. Al wiped his sweating brow again, his eyes stinging. “You know, the lake is just over that hill. We could go and cool off.”

Ed hefted his sack up. “Good idea.”

Al followed his brother through the woods. A year ago he would have given anything to feel the air on his skin, to feel the kiss of the sun on his face. Now that he was flesh again, he was already tired of being hot and sweaty.

While he missed Paninya and Winry, there was nothing else about their stay in RushValley that he missed. The heat had been unbearable. Al didn’t miss sweating profusely. He was sure that Ed didn’t miss the way the sun heated up his automail, leaving him to accidentally brand himself with it; an event that usually set off Mustang laughing. Then Ed realized he could fry Mustang just as easily. These bouts of mutual childishness would go on until Riza and Winry had to separate them. Al thought Roy and Ed actually enjoyed their tantrums and snits. The outbursts seemed to rejuvenate the men.

“Do you hear voices?” Ed asked, stepping over a tortuous outcropping of oak roots.

“Sounds like the colonel...I mean, General,” Al said, wishing he could just get used to calling Mustang, ‘Roy.’

“Can’t miss hearing his loud mouth,” Ed huffed, skidding a bit on the loamy forest floor.

“Sounds like they’re this way,” Al said, finding the easiest path to the lake. He decided to ignore the irony of Ed calling anyone a loudmouth. Al stopped suddenly when they reached the forest’s edge and Ed plowed into him. Al grunted when Ed’s automail shoulder clunked into his shoulder blade.

“Why’d you stop?”

Al whipped around and clamped a hand over Ed’s mouth. He put a silencing finger to his lips. Al led Ed out of the forest then he laid down at the very edge of some high grass, pointing. Ed saw what had stopped Al cold. On the small beach around a wide finger of the lake, Riza stood, ruffling her wet hair.

“She’s naked!” Ed breathed in a tight, happy whisper.

“I know,” Al whispered back, his eyes bigger than his face. “That tattoo...”

Ed flopped down in the grass next to his brother. The grass leading to the lake was lower than where they had hidden and was studded with purple autumn flowers. Just behind them, two oaks provided cooling shade. “We should ask about that.”

The brothers watched the tattoo for a few long moments before their eyes naturally settled lower. Riza’s bum was titillating. With tight, evocative curves, it was glorious. Riza turned and sat on a blanket. Ed’s mouth gaped and Al felt hot all over.

“Now I see why the bastard likes her,” Ed said, his eyes wide with wonder.

Al just bobbed his head, not sure what to say. Riza was beautiful as she stretched out, lounging in the sun. To their surprise, Gracia Hughes paddled in from around a bend in the lake that had shielded her from view. She climbed out onto the beach, water sluicing down her tanned, nude body. Al’s mouth went dry and ironically, his palms turned wet. Ed looked lightning struck. “This is wrong,” Al whispered, giving no signs of getting up or even turning his eyes. It might be wrong but at the moment, Al didn’t want to be in the right. “We shouldn’t be looking at Mrs. Hughes.”

“I know,” Ed said, pushing the tall grass down to get a better view. “So wrong.” Neither brother turned away from the scene. “We should really stop looking.”

“Uh-huh.” Al licked his lips. “Maybe it’s okay. They’re just cooling off since it’s so hot.” He never realized just how beautiful Gracia and Riza were. What would Paninya look like naked? Shiny metal against mahogany, that would be so pretty. Winry? Bad, he shouldn’t think about that. She was Ed’s girl. “Remember the time Winry dared you to swim naked across the pond back home?” Al snickered as that hysterical scene popped into his head.

“That wasn’t funny,” Ed snarled but his eyes never left the lake front. Glimmering feminine bodies were more important than adding the patented Ed-glare to the reprimand.

“Yes, it was. That fish mistaking you for bait!” Al chuckled louder.

“It bit me! There!” Ed’s face flushed, a hand wandering south protectively even though that part was buried in high grass.

“I remember. At least the ladies don’t have to worry about that,” Al said, watching as Gracia stretched out on the blanket next to Riza. “Just their toes...”

“Who cares about toes,” Ed grumbled, inching forward.

“Roy. I think he likes them, well, judging from some of the stuff I hear through the walls.” Al shrugged, blushing a little. It wasn’t like he listened at keyholes. It took effort to not hear Roy having sex. Ed always got flustered about it. Al thought Mustang made it sound like fun and half the time Al wasn’t sure the general was actually having sex. He could have just been out to irritate Ed, knowing how it set the young man off.

“Speaking of the freak.” Ed nodded and Al saw Roy and Maes coming out of the woods near the beach, each man hauling an armload of wood. “Must be making a bonfire for later.”

“Wonder if that’s safe? What if the Loyalists find us here?” Al fretted, wishing he hadn’t thought of them. There hadn’t been any signs of the Loyalists since Rush Valley but all his friends had their defenses down just now in this idyllic setting.

“If they were worried, the ladies probably wouldn’t be naked,” Ed reasoned, his voice sounding very strange.

Al didn’t look over to see why and he didn’t really want to talk any more, not trusting his own voice not to sound odd. He shifted on the grass, his body feeling hot and tight. He nearly knocked over his sack of chestnuts, but his enthusiasm for the treat had dissipated as a different kind of hunger moved in. Al had become familiar with this particular condition of being a teenaged boy. He hadn’t realized just how good being human again could feel...well, once he learned about lotion. The first experimentation hadn’t gone as well as hoped. Of course here in the woods, his brother next to him, was not the place to have to deal with a runaway body.

“Al, tell me the bastard isn’t getting naked,” Ed hissed, his face glistening with sweat.

“I don’t think I can.” Al knew they had moved well past wrong and were into willfully evil at this point. This wasn’t just a skinny dipping expedition. They shouldn’t be watching this but he didn’t think either of them had the power to turn away. It was mesmerizing watching the ladies slowly taking their lovers’ clothing off, lips and fingers exploring bodies. Al wondered what a body tasted like. He had only sampled Paninya’s lips just a little at the Cherry Blossom Festival in Rush Valley and that had been nice but surely there had to be other tastes, good ones, he guessed from how hungrily Riza and Gracia consumed their men.

“Whoa,” Ed whispered hoarsely, his face flushed and his hips shifting restless in the grass.

Al suspected his brother was in the same poor condition as himself. He was so hard and there was no way to deal with it without public weirdness. This was stupid. They shouldn’t be doing this but all he could do was watch Riza’s lips wrapping around Roy’s penis. Now he understood what all the groaning was about. He watched Hughes lying with his wife on the blanket, licking along her thighs and into places Al hadn’t ever thought of taking his tongue. The idea of that new sensation made him even harder and he had no idea what he was going to do about it.

A little shifting on the blanket left Roy and Riza lying next to their friends. Al made a soft noise as Gracia ventured between Riza’s legs. A less than soft sound of horror escaped Ed as they watched Roy lick up and down Maes’ cock before swallowing it down.

“I can’t believe he did that!” Ed said, belly crawling gingerly forward a few more centimeters.

“You knew they... you know,” Al said, his face feeling hotter than any other part of him and that was no mean feat. “They told us so.”

“I didn’t think they meant....that.” Ed flung out his automail hand at the foursome on the beach. Sunlight glinted off the metal.

“Told you he was the girl, didn’t I?” Al allowed himself a triumphant look.

“Don’t know how you know anything about any of this at all,” Ed grumbled.

“I also know I don’t want to be here with you,” Al shot back. He might as well be honest. Ed had to know what was going on with him and why let his brother know the other had been a lucky guess based on the slight diffidence he saw in Mustang whenever Hughes was around?

“No kidding.” Ed tugged on his waistband, shifting on the grass.

Al did a little shifting of his own but that only made matters worse. If he kept doing that, he’d be in danger of doing something in his pants that he really didn’t want to think about, especially with a long walk back to the house. It wasn’t like he could go to the lake and wash off, not with the beach claimed by people he didn’t want to know that he was here.

This would be the perfect time to look away, pick up his chestnuts and just stumble home. Instead he watched as the men fumbled in their discarded clothing for something in their pockets. As they slowly slicked their hands over their penises, which seemed to jump and quiver, Al realized that they had to be applying prophylactics, like the one Roy had given him the night of the dance and he had had only the vaguest of ideas what to do with it. At least Al knew now that all the twitching of that member was totally natural and not some side effect from being lost behind the Gate.

Al’s breath caught as Riza climbed on top of Hughes, riding him while Gracia knelt over her husband’s face. After long sweet moments, when they seemed to get a rhythm going, Gracia started kissing Riza. Al hadn’t realized it could be done with that many people at once. Roy just sat back watching for a moment, his hand stroking himself, a luxury Al wished he could have right about now, then Mustang grabbed Gracia and they twisted into a happy-sounding pretzel of limbs. Al’s hand fisted in the grass as he watched the rhythmic clash of bodies and listened to the ecstatic staccato music they made, the sounds rolling up hill from the lake front like the songs of an exotic water bird.

Al still resisted reason and didn’t leave, even when the men traded their women for each other. The women looked on, touching themselves as their men twisted around each other like ivy up a tree. Knowing that the two men were lovers and seeing it were two different things. From the sounds, it was cooling Ed off. Al wasn’t sure he agreed. There was something amazing about watching people in love. It didn’t seem to matter to Al about the sexes involved. Watching Mustang and Hughes’ cocks fencing as Hughes moved over top of Mustang was every bit as exciting as watching the sway of Riza’s breasts as she had bounced on top of Hughes. Al bit the inside of his lip trying to get control of his tightening testicles. It didn’t help that Mustang and Hughes’ cries of delight echoed over the water as they came. Al barely kept his body in check.

“Al, can you walk?” Ed asked, his voice crackling with something Al didn’t want to think about.

“No,” Al replied, his voice a gruff shadow of itself.

“Too bad. I think they’re done.” Ed nodded to where the foursome had slipped into the lake to cool off and wash up.

“We should go,” Al said, wishing he actually had the ability to stand.

“That might take a few minutes.” Ed shot him a sardonic look.

“Yeah.” Al strained to resist the urge to rub his hips against the grass. If he did that, there might be a mess to clean up. He looked on as Roy and Maes got out of the water and toweled off, rooting around for their clothing. Riza and Gracia simply dried off, a glorious movement of female curves under bright cloth, every bit as eye-catching as the sex. They settled down on the blanket, kissing, hands straying to soft, voluptuous breasts. “Don’t think they’re done.”

“Damn,” Ed muttered, rolling onto his side to relieve some of the pressure Al didn’t doubt. “This is...wow. Watching Mustang and Hughes was gross. Hughes needs better taste than the bastard... but this...I don’t want to go.”

“Me either.” Al felt imprisoned by the sight of Gracia’s full lips tight against Riza’s nipple. He had totally lost sight of Roy and Maes but he didn’t care. They were done and the girls obviously had bigger appetites. This was an amazing day. He was learning more about things he didn’t even know he should have been curious about.

Ed’s breathing sounded ragged to Al’s ears and he knew his didn’t sound much better. Suddenly the beauty of the beach tableau was ruined when a weight suddenly dropped on Al’s back. He screamed, half deafened by his brother’s mirroring shriek. Al rolled onto his side, trying to get his hands together, a move emulated by Ed when he saw Roy and Maes standing over them. Maes’ foot slipped off the small of Al’s back as the boy moved. Al couldn’t tell if Hughes and Mustang were angry or amused or a mix of the two.

“Do you have any idea how much noise you two make?” Roy’s arms crossed, his fingers tapping on his biceps. His wet hair half covered his eye and curled over his eye patch.

“Seriously, Ed, never transfer to investigations; you are incredibly loud.” The corners of Maes’ lips crept towards the clouds.

“I just got this body. Try not to make my heart stop,” Al said, staying on the ground. He tried to surreptitiously meld the tall grass over his waist.

“Damn it, you nearly scared the piss out of me,” Ed growled, scrambling awkwardly to his feet.

“Yeah, don’t think you can do that through that.” Maes gestured to Ed’s tented trousers. Ed flushed, his hands fanning out in front of him.

“Hey, I lost the bet,” Roy said, with a pout. “I said there were more parts lost in that rebound alchemy than your arm and leg. Guess I was wrong.” Roy pointed to Ed’s erection.

“I did not lose that,” Ed growled, tugging on his trousers. Al was suddenly grateful for Ed’s condition. It was probably the only thing sparing them a full blown eruption of ire and little flailing limbs.

Roy leered. “So I see.”

Maes shoved Roy lightly for baiting the boy.

“Damn.” Ed turned away but the other view of the beach was equally embarrassing. The women had stopped and were looking up the hill. Riza and Gracia waved. Al realized they had been the distraction to allow their men to get up the hill unnoticed by him and his brother.

“Still looking at our woman, Alphonse?” Maes grinned wolfishly.

Al colored all the way to his roots. “No, sir.” Well, he was but at least a good, embarrassing scare had killed his erection.

“Better seeing them than you two,” Ed said, trying to cover his embarrassment with his usual surliness. “You can do so much better, Maes.”

“Aww, but Roy has such sparkling eyes.” Maes bit off the word, realizing he had alluded to a trait that had been partially maimed. Roy shot him a lopsided, forgiving grin. Maes trailed a finger over his lover’s cheek and Roy played into it. “And that mouth, so expressive and pretty.”

“It always looks pissed off,” Ed argued and Al bit back the retort ‘that’s usually only true when you’re around, Ed.’

“Look who’s talking,” Roy said with a laugh.

“Hush,” Maes said, kissing the mouth in question.

Roy made a low groan as Maes backed him against the oak tree. Within seconds the men seemed to forget the brothers were there as their mouths worked and Maes rubbed against Roy, their hands exploring.

“Eewww,” Ed groaned.

Al grabbed his brother’s arm. “Come on. I think they’re giving us an out.” Al got up, grabbed his sack of chestnuts and started to run. Ed followed.

And that Paninya, is the totally humiliating trouble we got into. I debated telling you, since this probably sounds bad and I didn’t want you to think I was strange or something. But, I know Roy will never let it go. Heck, even Maes seems bent on teasing us and the ladies just keep giving us arched looks. It’s so embarrassing. Of course, at one point, Roy did let slip he likes to watch and be watched so maybe it’s not totally weird that we spied on them. I hope you don’t think too badly of me.

Love,
Al

Al blotted the letter then set it aside to fully dry so he could fold it into the envelope. He picked up another piece of creamy stationary then checked the nib on his pen. He sucked some ink into the barrel of the pen and started a new letter.

Dear Winry,

Ed and I miss you so much. Somehow I figure Brother will not tell you about the trouble we got into yesterday and better you hear it from us than any off-color joke Roy will make of it later.

It all started when we got overheated picking chestnuts...

I loved the fic and it was appropriately hot and everything, but this line:

“Al, can you walk?” Ed asked, his voice crackling with something Al didn’t want to think about.

Made me laugh my head off.
