Well I can't really say vote for me since all the stories are anonymous but both myself and [livejournal.com profile] mjules have stories in the contest so if you want to read them over and vote for your favorite that would be cool. (note this is Fullmetal Alchemist verse) Check it out
The Red Flamel Fanfiction Contest Vote I'm betting our styles are dead giveaways (and yes I think every single story is yaoi or at least half yaoi)

And picspam from my birthday at the Franklin Conservatory

Stick Sculpture This was actually right in the lobby.

Chihuly Garden This is also in the ticket lobby.

Chihuly in the tropics. This is part of the tropical garden.

Chihuly Arbor Still in the tropics. This wasn't an easy arbor to image.

Tropical Pond I just really liked this pond. Too bad about the railing

Crown of Thorns From the desert room. If i lived out near [livejournal.com profile] rahirah I'd probably plant this around the bedroom windows...of course I'm not sure how to manicure the monster.

Chihuly Koi Pond Easily my favorite thing in the entire place. It was lovely (this is when the camera crapped out).

And back on the home front, the little wild kitten. This one I can hold and he stays calm.
Cutie Pie and the lobelia

and for reasons known only to photobucket, it didn't upload my garden pictures except this one more lobelia and wishbone flowers

and my living dead doll
Rain

I saw a Chihuly exhibit in Chicago a couple years ago. I loved it. Love your pictures.

Rain is disgustingly cute for a Living Dead doll.

Love the koi pond. Love it.

there were better shots to be had of the koi pond but...well, if you come, we'll go there.

Isn't she though?

Is it just me, or does the stick sculpture look like something large and nasty is nesting in the lobby?

The name Chihouly will always, always bring to mind that sculpture we dubbed "Cthulhu's Boat" at the Orlando exhibit. That thing was just...creepy. I loved the glass ball "hassocks" on the rotunda, though, and the balls in the koi pond are cool, too. Are they anchored or free-floating?

the balls in the koi pond appeared anchored nad yes a lot of his work is just creepy.

and that was my thought about the stick sculpture

I guess having expensive glass objects banging around a pond isn't a good idea, but it would be more fun if the balls could drift with the current. Chihouly's work isn't exactly kinetic, which might be a good thing given the creep factor.
