the good is the cat shelter just called me and they'll take momma and babies. Wish me luck in capturing them. The kittens are skittish but they will allow you to handle them. I had the girl eating out of my hand today but the boy would just sit there and lick my fingers. Momma is a greedy guts. I'll need to get up early on friday to round them up and take them down. Sigh.

The bad...I've not been reporting on how sick I've been. Let's just say in the last three weeks my sugar has spun out of control like it's never been and my weight (stable for over a decade in spite of exercise and diet) suddenly shot up in two weeks without explanation. I had blood work today all of which was normal except the diabetes and luckily my doctor had time to deal with me today. We had a long talk and I didn't realize that you could get these 'sinus' headaches from sleep apnea. Now I know I stop breathing when I sleep but it is getting worse (mostly because I'm fat). Well my inability to lose weight, the diabetes and the headaches might ALL be part of this. So i'm being set up with a sleep specialists. She took one look at my leg and the varicose vein and said go to Columbus then said wait, no we might have someone here to do that. So not only did I have a doctor's appt every week for four weeks we just added at least two more visits.

The only thing is if I have sleep apnea I'll need to have a machine at night. Mom (who also has it) can't bear the machine. My cousin (see a trend in my family) loves her machine. The only problem is, if I need it and want to travel. And really is there anything sexier than being hooked to a machine to help you breathe...

But as I'm sure you know, sleep apnea is no joke. A dear friend lost her husband at the age of 42. They had no idea he had sleep apnea and he died in his sleep.

If you do have it, and it can be gotten undr control perhaps everything else will improve?

I didn't realize sleep apnea could cause so many different problems. Hopefully the sleep specialist will be able to confirm this and the machine won't be too annoying.

That's very good that the shelter will be able to take mommy & baby kitties.

i'm happy about the kittens (crosses fingers they won't say they're too young but they're eating dry food)

sleep apnea can actually be life threatening

AIGH.

Well, good news about the kitties, I guess. And I'm glad the doctor actually talked to you.

Yay for productiveness. I've actually left work before 6:00 every day this week. Cause for a celebration, I swear.

Do hand springs. Finish my story. Write MT, read over Ties, see I can fill an afternoon.

Sadly, I didn't get off work 'til much later than we expected due to - *gasp* - emergencies!

I'm beginning to think I should simply plan for Friday emergencies. *nods*

naturally because everyone knows the weekend is coming and no one will be there to work on their problem

That may be it. Or weird things just happen on Friday.

I agree with ELD, at least the doctor was a good one. And I'd say being dead is far more of a turn-off than a machine... I knew someone once who had to wear one, and I've been told it's like making love to Ganesh. [grin]

Mom said it HURT (then again she's a wuss) she couldn't tolerate it. I guess I'll see what I shall see

Maggie stared out with a rigid one that was quasi-painful and annoying, but she's gotten a new one that's flexible and molds to her face. She says it's way more comfortable then the old one, FWIW.

Well, [livejournal.com profile] sillymagpie uses a CPAP machine, and hers is very portable.
