Hie Ho Hie Ho Off to insanity I go
Aug. 24th, 2006 05:28 pmWell I come back from Krogers to see the dean of arts and science has called me again. I'm thinking why, I've finished that class we just added. No, that's not why. The prof teaching human anatomy this semester was suddenly tapped to teach herptology at our sister school because the new guy isn't qualified (neither new guy...uhm so why were they hired?), but that means he can't teach human anatomy.
Guess who was hired originally to teach this class. Yeah you got it, Madness was. So why is she bitching and hiding under her futon in tears? Well because
a) classes start monday and I have nothing ready for THIS class
b) it's at 8:30 AM which gives me a FOUR hour break between classes
c) did I say it was at 8:30?
d) yet another lab for me to run which means 3 hours of this lab THEN the 3 hour human Physiology course too.
e) it's at 8:30 AM
f) it only has SIX students in it which means I don't get full pay.
I whine and ask why would we run it for 6 people in the fall when we have FIFTY of them in the spring? No sane answer there because even the dean is asking that. I say no, because I will not come in that early and get prorated (i.e. i don't get full pay). He says he'll authorize full pay. I whine some more and stomp around my apartment and tell him how hard this lab is and how much more work and snot about the directed study I'm doing too. He knows this student and didn't know he was doing this with me. So I might not be doing that now.
long story short. I say yes because it's a FIVE hour class. So I switch out a non-major class I didn't want in the first place for Human Anatomy. This means I'm working 20 hours even without the directed study which means I'm getting $$$$$$ I guess I'll be going insane this weekend to get this class ready. The dean thanks me and tells me if I know Kirk's spiel about already doing my bit for king and country and then riding off to save the universe again? If so I'm allowed to quote that around the office now.
And so I call my parents to whine to them about having to get up for an 8:30 class. Oddly they have no pity for me. Dad says I can use my money to pay me back for the t-shirt he just bought me at the overstock store. Dad bought me a shirt?? Okay. He says it's that Japanese stuff you like. It's got a blonde girl in a red cape and a giant robot and something about alchemy on it. No, dad that's Ed, a boy, and his brother Al. Dad tells me I'm weird and apologizes for it being powder blue. Mom informs me they had another shirt there that read 'will work for anime' but it only came in small.

Date: 2006-08-25 02:59 pm (UTC)BTW, present for you here (http://nebroadwe.livejournal.com/5687.html). I posted it a couple of weeks back, but I think you were on vacation and I'm not sure you saw it. It's just been through another round of editing and is hopefully even better now, though.
Peace.

Date: 2006-08-26 12:47 pm (UTC)Unsurprising. All students are nocturnal (except me. I'm not sure how I'm going to do in the evening class I'm taking this semester on the staff benefit).
I printed it out (I was going to catch up on my reading this weekend).
Just like a real book! :-) All kinds of experiments going on in my 'fic these days: first romance, then (as of last night, here (http://nebroadwe.livejournal.com/6197.html)) action/adventure/comedy. Next up, though, is old-fashioned angst again. :-)
