goes wrong and I'm gonna lose it. My engine light came on on the way to work. I wasn't too worried. This has happened before, usually when one of the gas tank sensors blow. That's annoying enough because those sensors are all over 300$ parts alone. BUT then as I slowed down the car's engine nearly died. That's new. Then I remembered that a few times in the last couple of months my gas mileage tanked severely and dad hypothesized that maybe the onboard computer is telling the gas pump to do something weird.

I'm afraid I won't even make it home from work and the only Honda dealership is over 50 miles away. Not sure the local guys can handle this.

Do you hear me screaming?

Sounds like what happened to my Kia (guzzling gas and stalling when slowing down). Was the air flow sensor - I was able to get a couple of hundred more miles out of it from having a random mechanic resolder the connection - might be worth trying if you're worried about it making it to the dealership.
