Babies, they were going to feed babies to a demon. It hurt more than Giles expected to hear that news. How low had Ethan sunk? This man had been his friend. He didn’t want to think Ethan was this evil. Power hungry, yes but evil? Giles had no choice but the face it, even the residuals of the band candy couldn’t take off the edge. Oooo. Poor Giles. I think this might've been more powerful if you'd started with the "His former best mate" sentence and sort of worked your way backword.
