Spent the day making up the exam for monday. Didn't go to the renn fest because it was cold and raining. Maybe tomorrow. I just realized that in a new novel I'm working on one character has a personality a lot like Alton Brown, his evil sister is a lot like Sandra Lee and their kid sister has Rachael Ray's personality....i need to turn off the Foodnetwork.

Apropos your musical selection, Trinity Blood's writers need their hands smacked for the other night's episode. That plot line was old and trite ten years ago. Bad writers! Bad! Bad! Let's swat them with rolled-up original fiction and rub their noses in their keyboards.

oh no kidding, it was AWFUL. ANd seriously the animators of bleach need to stop fucking with the storyline. They are NOT making it better

If I keep invoking Yu-Yu and Zatch Bell where Bleach is concerned, it's because the cast of characters is the same. It's like they're drawing them at random out of some pool of stock characters--the big but somehow special lummox, the ditzy wanna-be girlfriend, the annoying younger sibling, the hero who excels without having to go through any boring preliminary training, the evil, soulless and uniformly hideous monsters that must be battled--all the same. I'm sure the manga is better. Heck, I bet there's fanfic out there that's better than the anime so far.

well yo know that doesn't really bother me because that's how most manga are. Seriously. go back 30years and look at Gatchaman, big lummox (ryo), ditzy girl (Jun), annoying younger sibling (jin-pei), the excelling hero (takeyour pick, joe or ken)

that said, the anime is just sucking the joy out of this for me

At least they've spared us the ten-episode battles that made Yu-Yu so intolerable that I never started watching it. I used to flip over to Yu-Yu during commercial breaks, and I swear I saw the same battle, continued, every night for a week or more. Nothing is interesting for that long, especially not a poorly-written, grossly padded epic showdown.
