Here's my entry for  [livejournal.com profile] writinggoddess 's female ficathon. I wrote for Kristi and I had Fred for my femme. It was an interesting challenge, in part because anyone who knows my work knows Fred is either background or I kill her so it was different for me to use her as the focus character. But the challenge idea was interesting and I think I did a pretty good job of catching a fresh from Pylea Fred. I hope yuns think so too. So here you go, my story, Waiting for the Storm

Dana I can't tell you how much I loved this. Your Fred voice was wonderful. I loved how her inner voice was logical yet when she opened her mouth it came out a ramble. I know you don't care for Fred but you really did a fantastic job with her.
The BA mentions were just awww made me all teary. I always thought Fred would have a hard time with the idea of Buffy coming back from the dead for the reasons you gave in your story. They make perfect Fred sense to me.
And you got me all teary with Angel's speech at the end! *hop* Thank you sooo sooo much for writing this. I adored it!

Thanks. I'm so glad you liked it. LIke I said, what you wanted with the challenge is 90% of the reason I didn't ask for a switch out because I know I usually don't do Fred justice. I thought seeing B/A from the outside with new eyes was a good idea and it gave me the chance to pick at that Wes/Cordy thing which I did not find funny on the show (no matter that i was supposed to).

Dana, I liked this a lot. I know you're not a Fred fan, but I thought you did her real justice here. Angel's specch at the end about bravery was beautiful and something he would say. My only complaint is I think Angel is too talkative about himself. He tends to be not very forthcoming about things of a personal nature.

You're probably right re: Angel. Maybe all Fred's talking made him nervous :)

I'm glad you liked it.

Very very nice Dana. Great Fred voice. And being an avid b/a shipper (I'm sorry I'm sorry I know it's passe ;) ) I really liked your Angel and his explanations to Fred.
Really nice little peak inside Fred's head.

Thanks. I'm glad you liked it (I dont' see anything passe about B/A either). I'm glad Fred came across okay because I'll confess to being worried about it.

Poor Fred, not being able to 'belong' to her rightful home.

It had seemed oddly inappropriate to do that, like I was a square peg and they the round hole. - Perfect.

Angel is so sweet here and Fred is so babbly, aw. (yes, three years after the fact I can find the awwness of it. Heh)

“You just take the summation of the primary equation and let that numerical value flow into the second equation and into the third and so on.” - *whimpers* I need maths... I want maths... Okay, where did I hide my Calculus books?

LOVED

Trust me that explanation of fractals came right off a fractal site. My main advisor wanted me to get into fractals and ecology. I hid in the corner babbling.

I'm glad you liked it..
