Angelus watched the cigarette smoke spiraling upwards in the streetlights. He was back. He wasn’t entirely sure how nor did he give a damn. He was just sorry there weren’t any handy gypsies to take out his decades of suppressed rage on. Oh, wait, yes there was and he added Jenny to the quickly growing list of things to do. Angelus’ eyes canted back toward the apartment where Buffy slept. He could drink some Slayer blood right now but that kill would be hollow. How could he brag about that? No, he’d come back for her later, a devil in disguise.

Animal Instinct - Angel S4

Watching his son from a distance, Angel had learned on key thing; Connor had a lot of animal instinct. Was that the demon in him or was that learned from Quor-Toth? Whatever it was, it served Connor well. The boy stalked and killed his prey easily and at first Angel worried about Connor’s propensity for hunting down demon he learned quickly the boy could survive. A little voice whispered in to Angel that his son would never come back home like he wanted when he threw Connor out. His son didn’t need him. Angel refused to listen. Connor would need him.

“What are you doing?” Buffy asked, seeing Dawn, Faith and Willow huddled around a digital recorder and some other electronic equipment, giggling their heads off.

“Andrew showed me how to use his toys,” Dawn said.

“And this is funny how?” Buffy cocked her head to the side.

“Angel, Spike, Connor, Giles, Xander and Andrew are all drunk and arguing who is the best love machine,” Willow wiped away tears of mirth.

“And we’re recording this shit for blackmail later,” Faith added proudly.

Buffy sat down and joined in the giggles. “They will never ever live this down.”

“Goddess bless technology!”

“Buffy! Who told you to look at my computer?” Dawn got in front of her computer, arms crossed.

“You’re writing smut?” Buffy sputtered.

“Fruits Basket fanfic,” Dawn corrected her. Buffy gave her a ‘huh?’ look. “You know, manga. A cursed family who turn into the animals from the Chinese zodiac when hugged by the member of the opposite sex. I’m a Haru/Kyo shipper.”

Buffy pinched the bridge of her nose thinking she had Xander and Andrew to blame for this. “And what’s a straight girl like you know about boy on boy sex?”

“I listen to Spike and Andrew trading stories.”
