I don't make many but the ones I'm making I want YOUR help with

A) while I don't imagine I'll have a difficul time getting my resume updated and out there, start asking me where I've submitted etc. Help me stay motivated

B) My synopsis. Last year I said I was going to do it and I didn't. Asked for people to nag me about it and no one did. I'm serious. Keep on me. Ask me if I have that synopsis done. Ask if I've submitted to an agent. Ask if I've sent out some short stories. I don't work well without deadlines so help me!

C) I need to lose weight. Ask me if I'm doing my exercises. Heck I know several of us want to lose weight. A mini support group could be formed for those interested, just email me since I'm sure we aren't all that comfortable emblazoning our LJ's with our weights. You don't have to tell me your weight but maybe emailing our little group with the weight lost per week might keep us motivating. What do you think? If you're interested let me know

D) go on vacation. I haven't been on a real one since...when did we go to Savannah [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog and [livejournal.com profile] silvrethorn or does that three day weekend at Breyerfest count?

We went to Savannah in...I'm thinking 2002 or 2003. So, yes, it was THAT long ago. Breyerfest doesn't count.

...and I want to do something fun for my vacation. Are you applying for new jobs or not? Tell me, woman. *laugh*

Re: weight loss--check out http://community.livejournal.com/mad_cows_r_us/, recently created to be the very support group you need.

I just joined up. I don't have as much to lose as I used to, but every little bit of support helps!

I'm right there with you on the weight loss! I've managed to lose a lot and keep it off since 2002, but it's a constant struggle. I'm down to where I only need to actually lose 20 - 30 pounds to reach a good "target weight" for me, but it's taken a LOT of time and hard work! So keep it up! If I can do it, you can!

Ditto on the writing/etc. I need to find me an agent...

Would you be at all interested in teaching a non-semester based, online-only class? You could live anywhere. My division is looking to expand gen-ed offerings...

...So where have you submitted to so far? :)

Do what you can where you are. At least you can get some of it written up, right?

My resolution is to lose some weight also. Sadly, I'm not very motivated. (damned depression) I will nag you though. You can tell me I'm a loser. Wait. If I'm not losing weight, then I wouldn't be a loser, I'd be fatter - wait! What? Time for bed.

oh trust me, I know all about depression. I've wiped out of therapy and just about any anti-depressant you care to name

I'm under contract so I'm not sure I could and I'm very against science courses going on line. They are all about the lab and you can't do that on line

sadly I'm on two pills that make you gain weight (just what you need being diabetic), so now that that one is failing to keep the sugar under control despite my diet I'm switching to the injectibles which will actually cause weight loss. We'll see

the writing, on my part is half depression, half lack of motivation

Yuck.

Sadly for me, I have nothing to blame but myself - I'm lazy and painfully shy, therefore fat and lacking in drive because it would require me to communicate with people... *shiver*

I hate that I have no gym here. I love water aerobics and working out on the equipment. Though I take blame for not exercising at home

still has a lab. Some things don't belong online. LIke nursing degrees. Glaring at the places that offer it and wonder what kind of hospital would accept it

COM, I promise to ride you like the last pony at Waterloo. I'm a wonderful taskmaster and an excellent nagger. Plus, I get high on the power. Oh... Sorry, am I scaring you? *snort* Seriously though, I will definitely try to keep you on task and with your eyes on the prize(s). All I ask is that you do the same for me (my goals are over on my LJ).

Also, for weight loss, try www.fitday.com . It's totally free and has a great, easy to use interface.

I started out working at home, when I was at my heaviest - I got one of those step things from Harriet Carter; not the greatest piece of exercise equipment, but small and portable and easy to put under a chair, and I got really good at it (in fact, wore two of them out - fortunately less than $40!) before I moved on to a gym. Do you have a Y around?

I can't recommend working out enough - the last time I weighed 155 - 160 (my current weight), I sure wasn't a size 8, which I am now!

I will bug you about the synopsis and the submitting if you'll do the same for me. It's one of my New Years Resolutions also.

I'll also do the asking about the exercises. Lisa and I agreed to poke each other about exercising and losing weight so I'll poke you while I'm at it.

Currently, I'm on Effexor XR at 175 mg. I have been on a few others but had some side effects. I have dysthymic depression - whoo hoo. Some days it's amazing that I even get out of bed.

Effexor nearly killed me. I'm severely allergic to most of them except the oldest varieties which don't seem to work sadly
