Evans Curse Redux
Feb. 26th, 2007 10:20 pmI forgot to mention this. My cousin, the one with hepatitis, had to have back surgery. So mom was telling me about this as she talked very little about the vacation (all i know about that is dad is in love with Lorraine...my uncle's GPS that he let them borrow) Anyhow the next day he got violently ill so they called 911 to take him back to the hospital to find out what was causing this. So his mom (yes the Evans side of the family) goes out to move the car to get it out of the way of the ambulance. She falls on the ice and breaks her arm so they both have to go to the hospital.
The hospital sends him home, thinking it's just an anesthesia reaction. The next day he's worse (nothing like puking with stitches in your back) so his mom calls her sister to come get him and take him back to the hospital. Her sister falls on the same icy spot and breaks HER arm too. She picks herself up, gets my cousin and drives them both to the hospital. They're both back at the hospital, him for the flu and her to have plates put in her arm. (they still let her drive home wiht that broken arm....)
Dresden Files - WTH was that? Besides boring. You know I don't mind that they don't follow the book too much. I mean there's only 6 of them so they obviously have to branch out. But why change things that don't need it. And unless in later books, Bianca is not his buddy and well...that was just crap.
Criminal Minds - hmmm okay so they do seem to be going there with Reid. Okay. I can deal. I liked that EVERYONE seemed to notice his changed behavior and I can buy they're thinking he is still shook up from his ordeal. I can even deal with the newbie being the one to call him out and him puttingher down since she doesn't really know him. But this had best not go on much longer. After all they ARE experts in behavior, i think they'll notice
Things to feel superior about. I always love seeing the typos in my work after posting in spite of all the betaing. Sheesh. But at least I feel a little vindicated when I see it in professional books. I'm reading Jim Butcher's Dresden Files #3 and they have a typo. Okay it happens. I usually giggle and feel superior because well I'm apparently childish but this one has no excuse. The line is supposed to read. 'Holy Shit! Hellhounds!' and Harry's holier than thou friend takes him to task about swearing and he replies. "oh right, Holy Shit! Heck Hounds..." they misspelled Hellhounds. You know when it's part of a big joke, you really shouldn't miss that typo.

| If it's not one thing, it's another. Your life is a pitiful wreck, and it's all you ever write about. Why don't you at least make up a happy story for once. Your friends would appreciate that. |

Date: 2007-02-27 08:24 am (UTC)HA, I'm always finding typos in books. I'm like what the hell? And Buffy books are some of the worst...if you've read Nancy Holder's Chosen (which is basically a rehash of season 7) you know what I mean. I think there are more typos than words spelled correctly!

Date: 2007-02-27 02:38 pm (UTC)Dude! Man, you guys had best find out who put the motherfucking curse on your family and do some heavy placating.
I agree with both of your assessments on the shows. WRT Criminal Minds I really don't understand how the others aren't noticing his changed behavior. You'd think since as you state, they're trained behaviorists they'd notice his drastic personality change, but maybe they're trying to go with they're too close to the problem to see it. Whatever. I just don't want to see this stretched out too long.
Typos in books make me insane(r). :)

Date: 2007-02-27 03:27 pm (UTC)Well I think Hotch, gideon and Morgan all DID notice but they're probably thinking 'hmm well he did get tortured' and are making allowances but obviously this can't go on long or most of us will lose all respect for the show
and seriously, typos in something i paid for...

General Custard was slaughtered today. G.
