Well i'm gonna geek out anyhow. Had to stay late today to learn a new grading software. I'm in love. If the school won't buy it i'm buying my own. Easy Grade Pro ...it's just so amazing. I can put the raw scores in and it converts to percents so i dont' have to do math, it weights the tests, quizzes etc, i mean i have to do nothing but set it up and let it run. I put in evil_little_dog and mjules as test subjects in my hypothetical class. ELD got an A- MJules was my typical students. Way to score a 41% (now she's like bitch, i'm GOOD in science) MUST HAVE THIS SOFTWARE

Okay so Mom watches this. Getting ready to stop watching since it's getting dull but she was curious is Starbuck gone for good. She knows I don't watch but she knows also you all do and was curious if anyone knew any scuttlebutt

So...in talking to evil_little_dog last night and to kylie1403 where I was saying write what you love if you want to succeed in creative writing...i realized the one thing i'm good at. I wrote a romantic interlude last week and it was...blah. Servicable but not outstanding. Well I'm no fan of romances so I guess this isn't surprising. I then wrote a scene about a character getting tortured...and it's amazing if I do say so myself. The characterization is there. The descriptions, the action, nothing's missing.

So write what you love and you'll be good at it. Uh....geez, is it time to get back under professional care?

Scuttlebutt is that Katee Sackhoff is gone for the rest of the season, and season 4 is iffy. So probably gone but no one really thinks that Kara is dead. KS was making jokes during interviews about being a Cylon so who knows. The reigning theories are that she is dead, she's a Cylon, she was rescued by the Cylons, she's some sort of 'ascended being' or she ejected and will get saved at some point.

if you can do any genre you want, then go for something you yourself would buy. it makes it that much easier. Or if you cna do fanfic, find a fnadom you'd like to write in

Heh, I agree with that. It's why when I do write something it always has to be fantasy at the very least, cause I'm comfortable with the genre. And I'm good at angst. Any room left in that therapy group all you guys are going to? And why am I not surprised you're good at writing torture? *snickers*

Yay! on the good software. Not an easy thing to come by for grading, I'm sure.

And there's nothing wrong with being good at writing torture scenes. We all have our dark places; you simply have a healthy way to vent yours. It's the non-venters that worry me...
