for the techies on my list
Apr. 16th, 2007 11:44 pmIt occurs to me that I might like to burn a dvd (yes i know, rare occurance and yes I know, it's stealing and i dont' pretend otherwise). My question is, as silly as it may be, would i already have this sort of program on my XP and if not, where shall I get it?Thanks

Date: 2007-04-17 05:16 am (UTC)If you just want to burn some files to a dvd, it would work pretty similar to a cd. But if you want to burn a movie or episode or whatever the case may be, if it's a full dvd format (and depending on how big your dvd is, it could be either 4.7G or 8.4G), then you'd need to shrink the file first, if using the smaller dvd (using something like dvd shrink which is very easily found if you just google it, you'll find a free download quite easily). DVD shrink will both shrink AND decrypt a dvd should you need to copy a dvd for instance.
Nero is a dvd program that is decent and easily found online, and relatively easy to use.
I'd check what programs you have on your puter first then it might be easier to explain to you what you need to do. Just give me some specifics.
