dawn_icons2 did some lovely work with the latest Saiyuki Reload #7 and this is just one of the gems from that.

Frankly if Hakkai were to start selling himself (he's the one from the last default, asking to be violated), there'd be a line waiting. Or a little ordering of him and some Gojyo on the side.

umm.... no? Lol I know, I have plenty of manga reading to do... FMA, Saiyuki, Naruto, Hellsing... Saiyuki's the only one I haven't managed to find on the net though *sighs*

to the point it's two VERY different stories. For one, no Rose past issue one. No kid Wrath (that's someone else), The Sins have TOTALLY different origins, Winry's actually interested in Edward and not...Sciezka? Armstrong is more than comedy relief. You can see just how smart Hughes really is. There's no Dante. You do have Ling and Ran Fan and Hohonheim is vastly different. You get Mei (who I wish we didn't). the story line is deeper and much better.

Better than the anime?! Ok, now I know I really have to read it. And here I was, thinking that it was same as the anime but longer... If it offers an alternate ending to the Conquerer of Shambala (which in my opinion sucked) I'm all for it.

The anime and manga are similar up until Hughes' death and then they really REALLY diverge. I can't even stand the ending of the anime let alone that movie that shall never be mentioned.

Conquerer of Shambala doesn't even exist in the manga. Yet another reason to love it.

Winry has a personality other than "typical anime blonde girl."

Alphonse is not a tag-along, throw-away character. He actually isn't Ed's stuck in the background little brother. He's a complete personality in and of himself.

Oh, the manga is soooooo much better than the anime (despite my adoration for many of the VAs who did a wonderful job).

Yes FMA anime has GOOD Voice Actors which remains rare. And I did forget about Al who really is a fascinating character in the manga. In the anime, he's sweet but he's merely Ed's shadow (imo).

Yes, still believe the FMA VAs are the best choices I've heard of the various series/movies I've seen since the '80's - well, Nausicaa, back IN the 80's, was pretty good.

And like they were telling you (as soon as I read your comment I KNEW Dana would write you an entire essay on the differences) it is very different, I haven't read alot of it so far but Wrath, Sloth and Pride as in the anime don't exist and there are some extra characters too, plus the storyline diverges. I think you'd like reading it :)

Not alot yet XD I need to finish FMA first. Also, everytime I do something fandom related I feel guilty for not doing schoolwork. Nevermind I never end up doing much for school anyway. But I waste alot of time feeling guilty about it :/

i didn't see Saiyukiin scanlation but that's okay. it really hurts meto read on line. FMA is the only one i read (I might start reading Fruits Basket if the library doesn't get more since i don't like it enough to buy)

Yes if you look in my flist there's a few d. gray-man sites. one is hyper active. (a little too much for me some days) and they put up weekly bits because I think Grayman is a weekly strip. the bound volums are on like issue 25 and in Japan it's up to like 125. I can't read that much on line

I much prefer not to have to read online, but it's the cheap solution. And you know what the library is like here, you can't find a decent book, let alone manga. I've been getting the first couple of eps of Fruits Basket, want to see what it's about.

I really didn't care that much for Fruits Basket. I LOVE the boys but the main character is SUCH a Mary Sue that I can't get into her.
