My sugar is back to normal. For those who've been concerned, it started the second week of Feb. After having totally normal sugars in Jan I didn't just spin out of control, I skyrocketed for no known reason (no changes in ANYTHING) It was like the flip of a switch. One day normal and the next nearly 300. That's not normal. Diabetes usually creeps up slowly unless something is wrong (you ate something bad, you're sick etc).

I've been struggling ever since. Nothing made it better INCLUDING insulin. In fact the insulin made it worse. Then boom, another flip of the switch and yesterday I'm back to normal. Today my sugar was 104 right where it should be. Let's just hope I stay there.

In the meantime I want to know why. I think there's something going on in the background and it can't be good.

Are you still thinking of going to that research hospital? Because I don't think a regular doctor is going to able to figure this out.

yeah i plan on trying that. Not that I'm expecting much. I've had a high C reactive protein (a sign of inflammation) for 15 years now. no one can figure it out. i just learned that contributes to diabetes

I'm just glad you're okay now. I agree, go see a specialist for this.

Sounds weird to say the least (even if a bit familiar).

I could tell something was going on from other entries, I just wasn't aware it was diabetes. (I'm a little slow) At least you're feeling normal today which is always a plus. I hope they figure out what's going on. *keeping fingers crossed*

I've got a local friend with diabetes who's played the sugar ping-pong tournament a few times -- fortunately she's always been able to identify something to do to get back into a decent rhythm. When stuff happens without an identifiable cause-and-effect chain, that's scary and unpleasant. Hope you can suss something out.

(Meanwhile, more of that goofy Princess Tutu pastiche I've been nattering on about everywhere is forming up; I present you with a snippet in the hope that it will brighten your day:
The street door opened quietly behind him and Love walked in.

She was a tabby -- a tabby who'd have even Farinelli singing bass under her window. Her tail flirted back and forth with the arresting fascination of a feather on a string as she followed the maitre d' to an empty table next to the piano. She leaned over and spoke briefly to the penguin at the ivories, who turned to his colleagues and launched them into a plaintive rendition of "Autumn Leaves." The tabby listened, head cocked to one side, green eyes half-closed.

What the hell. He hadn't trod the boards all these years to miss a cue that obvious. "Michigan," he said to the bartender, "send the lady a Grasshopper, with my compliments."
Have I mentioned the bartender's a frog? Oh, I am doomed. The shades of Raymond Chandler and Chuck Jones are wailing about my bedstead now ...)

You got the Farinelli reference, for which I kneel and kiss your feet. It's about thirty-seventy [chortle] and "Huh?" responses on that one, but I refuse to abandon the funny.

i'm sure

I had an original character I wrote for for years, Farinelli as a vampire (because you know being a castrato isn't hell enough)
