Vegas Vs Seattle
May. 26th, 2007 03:04 pmSo mom and I were on the phone for about two hours while she vooms around on the high speeds for me and we debate the pros and cons of both trips...(Mom still thinks I'll spend all night at Quark's and stumble along the strip drunk and stupid)
She loved the Grayline Tours (hey, so I'm boring but it's not a bad way to see a place really, especially when you're alone) i picked for Seattle except for Mt. St. Helen's (she read that it was currently grumbling and spitting. Mom the whole POINT of going to a volcano is on the chance it might go boom! (Okay with my luck I'd be buried under tons of lava but what the hey). However looking at all the hotels...WTF Why are most of them 300-400$ a night? (trying to avoid renting a car here and driving to meet the Grayline). It was blindingly expensive.
So we head to Vegas...she's MAD. I can stay cheap (under 100$) at the Luxor (jealous much mom?) She liked the Grayline's i picked for that too. I think Vegas is going to win out just on cost alone. Mom found her solution to me staying at Quark's all night...a room at the Hilton (where Quark's is). We're still debating that and how long I might be there. Going to go look at more tours too (since i can't gamble ALL the time right?)

The Luxor is AWESOME - hopefully you get a room in the Pyramid itself, and not in one of the towers - in the pyramid you can ride the "inclinators" (which go up the edges of the pyramids, at an angle, and the only way to ride one is to have a room there! So I've never gone!). Walk from the Luxor to Mandalay Bay (it's all inside, don't worry) and Shark's Reef at Mandalay Bay is one of the coolest things EVER.
Man, I love Las Vegas... *g*

Date: 2007-05-27 07:10 am (UTC)I stayed at the Luxor (in the pyramid) during that trip. Fun stuff! (Also, I love the fact that going to Vegas is dirt cheap, at least room and board wise, since they want you to spend as much money as humanly possible gambling)
Might want to stay away from anyone that looks like Niki Sanders though. ;)
