the good and the bad

The Good- Southwest Airlines rules. My round trip flight is cheaper than US AIR one way to Vegas.

I'm booked into the Pyramid room at the Luxor (with added perks, go Mom).

The Bad - 'no one does Vegas junkets any more' or so many travel agents told mom while she was helping me look around for a tour. Um really? another 9/11 casualty? I know people still go to Vegas

The Really Bad - MGM BOUGHT the Luxor and are already in the process of stripping out EVERYTHING Egyptian about it. Mom registered her deep dismay about this. Well guess I'm glad I'm going now since this is the kind of thing I'll hold a grduge against MGM for.

...Why on earth would they take everything out of the Luxor that makes it an attraction to begin with? I know some of it was a bit old, and the talking camel was a Disney reject, but.... REPLACE, not TRASH.

i have no idea, all the statues are going most are already gone...which would have been nice to know BEFORE I booked the room. I probably WOULD have stayed at the Hilton
