So I wanted some new bras...i go to get some. Why is it the only pretty bras are made for girls without real boobs? If I were an A cup I could have any damn pretty bra I wanted. The D cups relagate me to something suited only for grannies or Valkyries. Well I knew i wanted Bali bras because a) many varieties of no underwire even in my size b) not the prettiest bras but not ugly either.

Only Macy's didn't have my size. Honestly retailers, WHY are the A cups always on the top? Okay I know it's the alphabet, A, B,C,D,DD, etc but when you put the bras in MY size on the bottom, gravity takes over and the D cups pull me over. Put the damn A cups on the bottom. Gravity can't find those to grab onto.

Ah well off to my brother's for a birthday/father's day party one day early

What the hell? How come then I, an A cup, can NEVER find a bra in my size that isn't covered with lace and is without underwires? Seriously, if you're as flat as I am you really don't need underwires.

I've taken to wearing sports bras. Okay, so they're not sexy but at least they're not lacy and they don't have underwires and they're sorta forgiving as far as size goes.

really? They're everywhere here. The only sports bras i can find are keyhole. I could dislocate a shoulder getting into those

*sigh* I hear you. Just bought a couple of new ones and seriously I tend to be happy if I find D cups at all, let alone nice ones. And then I see rows and rows of gorgeous ones in tiny sizes. Blah.

I get the same thing when I try to buy slacks, too. Apparently, everyone in North America is a size 4 (I just don't know ANY of them). And they're also about 6 1/2 feet tall. Except the petites, of course, who are (apparently) merely 6 feet tall.

So I, who am only 5'4", and considerably more than a size 4, am apparently in the minority in North America. Despite the evidence of, you know, my eyes.

i was always pretty sure slacks are made for people about 5'0". I'm 5'9" and most slacks look like freakin' capris on me

That's weird, because I'm 5' and I've had to cut off at least 6" of material on every pair of slacks I buy. How about we trade clothing stores?

No wait -- that still wouldn't work. I know! A sewing bee! Where I cut off all the bottoms of the pant legs here, and we sew them all onto the bottom of the pant legs there... Hm...

My theory: Because the designers/mfgrs think (1) we don't care how we look if we're over a size 8, and (2) no one will be interested in how we look if we're over a size 8.

They're assholes, I tells ya! Back in my late teens (in the stone age) I worked as a runway model on 7th Avenue and things were a bit different then. Granted, the styles of underwear were stodgy compared to nowadays, but hoo-ha! They at least expected that the average woman had some curves!

And why are almost all the new bras have PADDED cups?? I do NOT need anymore weight up top than what I already have! I also do NOT need to have my tits squeezed together to make them appear any BIGGER than what they already are!? JEEZ!

I hate bras despite the fact that I have to where them (a C cup here). I hate lacy bras too. I have to cut the lace off because if causes me to break out in a rash. I've finally settled and decided that I'm gonna wear corsets for now on. I found some absolutely beautiful ones at Dillards that fit me, I just have to get the nerve up to pay 30 bucks a pair :\

Ewwww, bra shopping. The bain of all women. I used to not even FIT the biggest size they sold but just recently it looks like my size has gone downn thanks to nutrisystem/lean cuisin. I think they make the smaller sizes frilly to make up for people who think having big means better. These companies are insane. It's like there are a bunch of men designing them!

Two weeks ago I finally found a girl bra - for the first time in about ten years all my bras aren't sports bras. And yes, finding it was a trial. It took me three hours, and why, why why do they think that as a D cup I need more padding? I put on one bra and was like, okay, a look a little larger... and then I put on my shirt and was like - holy shit! I look like I was drawn by an otaku!

Also, I went with a friend (A cup) who had just as much trouble finding a bra as I did. So really, no matter what size you are, you're screwed. In my opinion, we should just have custom-made bras - the extra labor cost would be balanced out by the time we save.

i like that idea. And yes i have NEVER been able to figure out why they think a D cup girl needs MORE padding

Three words: Otaku bra designers.

Clearly they're male, and clearly they're under the delusion that bigger is better.

Suggestion: Try an outdoor sports store, which is more likely to have clothing for people who want stuff they can move around in.

Tangent:
Rich girl wears a brassiere,
Poor girl uses string.
My girl doesn't use a thing
She lets the bastards swing.

Maybe there are so many pretty A cup bras because the girls who fit them think they don't need to wear bras and thus don't buy them. (Certainly been my experience at college. Someone needs to teach these people how to properly dress themselves.)

I think that's why there are so many size 0 jeans when I go shopping. No one can fit in them so they just end up on sitting on the racks.

Ditto! As a DD, I concur wholeheartedly. Big girls want pretty bras too (and is it really that hard to make an extra supportive bra pretty?); also we'd like more and prettier front closures so we don't have to do yoga to fasten our OTSBHs.

oh no kidding. One of the ones I tried had two little hooks (unusual since mine usually have 6 iron hooks of death) but there is no reason they can't look nice. Bali's DOES have nice ones in our size. Macy's was just out of them

I started getting my D-cups at Victoria's Secret (who are also some of the few places smart enough to realize that a woman with a "34" top can in fact also have a "D" cup... because for all the whining I did when I was a 38-DD, it's WAY harder to find a plain 34D, anywhere). I pay a little more, but they're WORTH it - they're pretty, functional, and supportive. I'll never buy any other brand.
