i've been queasy ever since wednesday so I think that migraine was either a) hormonal since that system is still messed up b) picked up a mild flu

But the real bah goes to the loan stuff. I got the bright idea this morning to call a bankruptcy lawyer. I know they don't necessarily do student loans (which are non-dischargable) but i thought they might know who to call since lawyers in three cities have told me no and that just leaves me going to Columbus.

Oddly enough there is only ONE bankruptcy lawyer within 50 miles (at least on the yahoo yellow pages. I could probably find more in the traditional papers) and he says that he might be able to h elp. Now I can't get all the loans to go away but I MIGHT be able to discharge part of it as an unreasonable hardship due to the injury and sheer amount of money.

However, this means declaring chapter 13 bankruptcy...i was thrilled at first (and I was right, at least according to him in NOT filing those discovery papers that were due in by monday) until Mom and Dad took the news more poorly. Well of course this isn't a GOOD thing mind you. I had just got my credit in good shape FINALLY and the old bankruptcy after the injury had finally cleared off my record. I don't even WANT to discharge my credit cards. I want to keep the damn things. I need them but I don't know what choice i have. And I could lose the case. I could go through all of this and NOT win and I could lose the retainer (which is going to be in the thousands) But even if I don't hire him, maybe it's worth the consultation to learn what can and will happen to me

I did learn they CAN take my retirement money (not all of it but they can take it). I need to know about getting a new car and if they can interfere with that and my license and well if just keeps going on

I will look into this more heavily with other lawyers on monday and tuesday now that I'm mostly free.

I'd say go to the consult. If nothing else, you might learn SOMETHING.

Definitely. Check to see if they'll give you a free consult, too. Or if they'll apply the consult fee to the retainer fee if you hire them within a certain # of days.

Ed and Al aren't as nerdy as Sciezka. The fact that she believes in aliens proves her nerdom. I now my dad has the original album to Deliverence. Still has it's sleeve and everything. And I remember having a Flash Gordon and Wizard of Oz that I'd play over and over when I was little. They got scratched up pretty bad so they were thrown away. *evil laugh* You may be my elder but I remember that stuff. And parents that exposed me to alot of stuff. It's amazing how many people my age have never heard of Monty Python...

Whatever you have to do, I just hope you get some resolution and peace soon.

And we will be stargazing with you this weekend (also one of our favorite things to do). Now I just to need to rig up some sort of SE Texas Earth suit to enable me to be outside, at night, without being eaten alive by mosquitoes and/or suffocating because I lack gills.
