help wanted

I belong to a couple of writers groups. They're good but there is a problem. Because everyone is reading everyone else's work it's slow going. The two novels I have right now would take on average two-three years to complete. I would like to move a tad faster. In fact two of the novels I have right now HAVE been through both groups (None of which found the problems the agent did with Machiavelli Moon so there is that).

Anyhow, I was hoping to find someone on the flist that would like to read and edit one of the novels (I could trade the same services) one a chapter by chapter basis (or the whole thing if you're masochistic.

Machiavelli Moon - Easily the easiest to give you in full though right now I'm revamping things (can be made availble with the critiques from the agent so you can see if I'm actually making the changes correctly) This is a murder mystery set in Deadwood SD (Yes a lot of you have already read and loved this and despaired of it being published) WIth vampires and werewolves as the protagonists.

Until the Ice Breaks - This is a young adult novel centered on a frozen world where Makai, a young man and his two companions have to find out who's trying to assassinate the lord of the manor.

Ties that Bind - evil_little_dog and I are reworking this one, set in the same universe as Makai's, it's the story of his grown up relatives and their attempts to stop the invasion of the human world (strict fantasy setting here)

OK, caveat emporium because you already know how I am on my obligations, but I'd be interested in doing Machiavelli Moon on a chapter by chapter basis, at least. I liked that one a lot. Tell me what sort of stuff to be looking for, though, because publishers and me don't agree on things, by and large...

i'll send you the critiques and to be honest, chapter by chapter is MUCH better for me too since I want to revamp (no pun intended) the whole kit and kaboodle, rewrite the lost outline (damn computer crash) and update it since this was set in the 90's originally and I decided to take the agent's advice and overhaul it (though in the editing I did notice at least three places where the date of the story was clearly stated)

This is something I've been thinking about, too - I've already cut a lot of what I've sent to the Writers Link group, so by the time we get to the next stuff, who knows where it will be?

I would love to have someone just READ it again, straight through (I cut a lot of that early stuff on the words of some readers who just read the whole book).

I'm thoroughly enjoying editing the current project for you and have just finished chappy 3. (I'll send revisions on a more decent e-mail later tonight) I'm sure I wouldn't mind helping you out if you need other betas. As long as it's nothing too provocative.
