the good news is
Aug. 29th, 2007 06:51 pmspent three hours in the ER today (looks like the triage nurse took one look at the swollen mess my knee is and skipped 'urgent' care). I liked this doc, he had personality. I said I don't think it's a blood clot but with diabetes, bad varicose veins, being on birth control and being 40 I'm a walking risk factor. He said what I did, 'it's unlikely but I'm not letting you out of here without doing a doppler.'
So I got all gelled up and my leg examined from groin to ankle. No clots. Yay. Better yet my vessels are clean and happy, which being diabetic is a concern so back flip and hand springs.
He agrees with me. This is very most likely a quadriceps tendonitis and to keep my appt next friday because i have a history of muscular tightness and commminant spurring. He told me wear the brace and asked about meds. I told him I have difficulty taking NSAIDS because of my GERD and he asked 'have you ever taken Ultram before' I said yes when I chip fractured the knee in question. He raised his eyebrows at me and asked, 'was this one of the three surgeries you had on that knee?' No this was a separate injury. You see an evil spellcaster cursed my right knee at birth and this is the result.
well off to seen if Stouffer's corner bistro flatbread pizza's are any good because I can't cook tonight. You see, Ultram is a central nervous system depressant. It really doesn't do much for pain by treating symptoms it just makes you high. I hurt but I don't give a damn (and I was reminded how much I can read in a few hours if people are pestering me. Woot!)
