Mom and I went to the casino friday night. It was so much fun. We BOTH played on our original 20$ for nearly 4 hours, that's how much we were winning. I came home 30$ up and she was up 100$. However if we had gone the night before like she wanted to, we probably would have won more. The casino's computers glitched and was paying out. My uncle won 3 grand that night. Figures.

Mom and I went to the pumpkin festival in Houston (PA) and it was WAY bigger than we thought. Oddly enough, there were no pumpkins but it was row after row of crafts. I counted no less than six pet crafts places and I did find one stand of Asian important quartz/jade jewelry, dead cheap and on par wtih the quality i get in craft stores. I cant even buy the components for what she was selling the finished product for. She even had the mah jongg bracelet I was going to make for 5$. Again, I can't buy the parts for that. Also found a stand with artisan cheese. Yum cheese!

Saturday night i went to my brother and SIL's place and we watched Room 1408. If you like John Cusak and/or Stephen King, it was good. Not great but good. I like John so...however as many name actors this had in it (especially for horror) their role is minor. Even Samuel L. Jackson is only a bookend designed for exposition.

made it back home. Read FMA #76

Wow, just when I think Mei couldn't get more uninteresting she goes and proves me wrong by being even duller. I was hoping Scar would just kill her for the sweet sound of silence.

Frankly i could have done without that scene and more with Izumi/Hoho. that was just too little for such a monstrously big revelation (though I see [livejournal.com profile] mjules was dead on in giving Al blond hair, gold eyes in spite of the anime ).

Somehow I was expecting Ed to FINALLY get in trouble. I mean who hasn't told him his kindheartedness was going to bite him in the ass? So honestly the big thing at the end, not a shocker. I would have been disappointed if he had gone up against Kimbley with any other result. However I found some of the action very muddy. I was wondering why Ed would assume taking away the stone would break the transmutation circles for Kimbley since they're tattooed on his hands like Roy's or Armstrong's accessories. [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog suggested Ed had cut Kimbley's hand but I didn't see that. Then again the circle he was referring to might have been touching hands and Ed DID kick his hand out of contact and without the stone's help Kimbley absolutely had to touch hands. I'm wondering how many stones he has in his gut.

It was very interesting however to see that Ed being alive is absolutely essential to Al's life. That would reaffirm that Ed himself is the true link to Al's body and is 'feeding' his brother body and soul. Though really parts of Ed's intestines and maybe a kidney should be hanging off that pipe. Wondering if that stone is within reach or if a chimera will give it to him. I'm not sure Kimbley would care enough about the Fuhrer's plans to help Ed but maybe...guess it depends on what Kimbley is actually getting out of all of this. Seriously, what is he getting out of it? He already has multiple stones. We know HE healed from Scar gutting him. And Ed and Al dying here and now, not likely to happen so it'll be interesting to see how Ed saves himself.

it was pretty good. Wish the weather hadn't been cold and raining on Friday so we could have gone to the zoo like we wanted.

Awww... I like Mei.

Ed did cut Kimbley's hand right across the array.

Oh, and *thank you DOCTOR for the lovely mental image!* Guuuuuhyuck. I'll take my bloody, violent manga without the spilling guts, thank you!

I can't think of a character I've disliked more in recent years than Mei.

That's possible. I can't really look at the computer screens and read without migraines so i tend to focus only on the words to get thru it as fast as humanly possible (also why THIS is the only scanlation I read, well Saiyuki gaidens too. I can't keep up with Bleach or D Gray man.)

i didn't even get into the rampaging peritoneal abcesses this will cause (however i DO get into that in the story I'm writing right now where Roy gets gut shot...)

well yes for Ed. Poor Roy, it's a combo of antibiotics (shh pretend they have them) abdominal surgery and a little Xing medicine thanks to his sisters ...
