Inset Spooky Sounds
Oct. 28th, 2007 12:05 amIt's been a long weekend at the haunted theatre. Yesterday we had 124 people with highlights being literally scaring the pee out of one poor little girl and terrifying the drunken bachelorette party so bad one of them hurled.
Tonight was...astonishing. 271 people. And every one I guided was made up of the world's clumsiest people. oh yes. they made me look like grace. One tripped in the bat room and took out the flooring. I had one group of little ones that mobbed one guide and nearly knocked him down (he's young). While I was riding herd on the little ones (great parenting there, mom and dad, thanks for keeping them with you) the other kids got so scared they ran THRU the plastic walls and into the tech area. Sigh. The next crew I had KNOCKED mom down and trampled her (I had to help the poor woman up) then slammed her into a real wall then bumped heads with her. I'm not sure she survived. Then I had one made up of boys around the age 10-12 if i had to guess. Not the bravest of souls, first they push into me. Then they get so scared TWO of them fall through a wall THEN grab me by the arm and nearly took me into the wall with them. Then my last crew, yep you guessed it panicked right into a wall, taking it out.
At least we're scary! To me the scariest thing last night was the elevator in this ancient building. There's NO light in it and it kept getting stuck. It wasn't running tonight. I've been up and down the steps so much I'm not sure how my leg is still attached.

Date: 2007-10-28 01:23 pm (UTC)When my nephews and niece were little, one of our old neighbors used to have a halloween party for the little kids every year which consisted of monsters coming out of the dark woods in the back of the house and chasing the kids all over the place. I had one little boy climb out one of the kitchen windows, screaming in terror, and into my arms where he clung like a limpet. (I didn't know him from Adam, but I was an adult and not a monster, so I was safety). Poor little guy. I'm not sure how they all grew up without major complexes after going to those parties every year. *g*
