It's been a long weekend at the haunted theatre. Yesterday we had 124 people with highlights being literally scaring the pee out of one poor little girl and terrifying the drunken bachelorette party so bad one of them hurled.

Tonight was...astonishing. 271 people. And every one I guided was made up of the world's clumsiest people. oh yes. they made me look like grace. One tripped in the bat room and took out the flooring. I had one group of little ones that mobbed one guide and nearly knocked him down (he's young). While I was riding herd on the little ones (great parenting there, mom and dad, thanks for keeping them with you) the other kids got so scared they ran THRU the plastic walls and into the tech area. Sigh. The next crew I had KNOCKED mom down and trampled her (I had to help the poor woman up) then slammed her into a real wall then bumped heads with her. I'm not sure she survived. Then I had one made up of boys around the age 10-12 if i had to guess. Not the bravest of souls, first they push into me. Then they get so scared TWO of them fall through a wall THEN grab me by the arm and nearly took me into the wall with them. Then my last crew, yep you guessed it panicked right into a wall, taking it out.

At least we're scary! To me the scariest thing last night was the elevator in this ancient building. There's NO light in it and it kept getting stuck. It wasn't running tonight. I've been up and down the steps so much I'm not sure how my leg is still attached.

I told you we're not too swift down here

Problem seems to be that they are, in fact, quite swift.

Maybe people in your area like concussions...

Obviously, stood there, looking knock-into-able.

Hee! I'd have loved to be there helping (or just be a fly on the wall...)

And *shudder* to old, dark elevators... Hey, how come they've never set a horror movie in that old place? You should write something spooky! :)

Not on these walls! :-)

I'm with [livejournal.com profile] lyricnonsense -- okay, you're terrified and you want to escape, so you run ... into the nearest wall? Suddenly all those horror movies predicated on the fact that the protagonists are going to do stupid things look that much more realistic. Though I suppose I should factor in the youth of the majority of the wallrunners. (And remember that momentum can do funny things to your choice of exit.) But still!

Yeah, what is the life expectancy of a fly on the wall of that place!? *snort*

yes these particular youth would be thinned from the herd by the first Freddy Kruger they run into. And now as an adult hanging out with teens for this, horror movies make so much more sense. We were all such tools at that age.

it's fun.

you know it would be a perfect setting for one but this is the most unhaunted one ever. I tried doing on withmy old college theatre (it was a civil war building) but i never managed it

Hee, sounds like fun, regardless. I take it no one painted a symbol on the floor and then accidentally dropped blood on it therefore releasing a fearsome demon? No? Too bad.

When my nephews and niece were little, one of our old neighbors used to have a halloween party for the little kids every year which consisted of monsters coming out of the dark woods in the back of the house and chasing the kids all over the place. I had one little boy climb out one of the kitchen windows, screaming in terror, and into my arms where he clung like a limpet. (I didn't know him from Adam, but I was an adult and not a monster, so I was safety). Poor little guy. I'm not sure how they all grew up without major complexes after going to those parties every year. *g*

oh those parties sound like a blast (and like story fodder, yes indeed) and you only THINK they don't have major complexes. One might be terrified of windows and trees for life.

*nods many times* The walls did NOTHING! NOTHING, I SAY! And you are witness! I shall be the defending lawyer if they have to go to court! XD

being plastic, the walls should just have wrapped around and not let go

it really was. I'm taking a night off tonight since I'm feeling bad (new blood sugar pill is making me pinge all over) and well i can't find the floor in the living room after a week and a half of not being home and me just tossing mail/things to grade in the direction of my couch
